“It makes me so angry that our government has yet to scream from the rooftops how obesity vastly increases your complications and death from COVID.”

I got that word. What would you like me to do about it? Ever since my metabolism went sideways in 1972, any weight loss at all required running 18-24 miles per week together with concentration camp rations.

Neither alone has any effect whatsoever. It has to be both together. I kept my weight reasonable for as long as I was able to run, then I lost the war.

I used to drink a fair amount. Gave it up cold turkey. Effect on weight: not even a nanogram.

I used to love soda pop. Root beer float, cherry coke, Dr. Pepper float...I used to buy them 92 cans at a time. Guzzled them all day every day. Went off them cold turkey over seven years ago. Effect on weight: not even a nanogram.

If I went off food entirely, and drank only water, in a month you could come to my house and collect a fat man, weighing exactly what I weigh today, starved to death in his computer chair. No weight loss would be detectable.

Kinda reminds me of Sam and Dave. Dave was not the real Dave.

Dave's not here, Man.

Hey you! I go 4 and a quarter and I'm basically glued to my bed but I can still die from C19!

“Only 9 thousand people have died from just Covid.”

Way to round down for effect. 6% of 192,000 is 11,500, but I know that disrupts your Panda agenda.

Only 257 died from just influenza in 2001. On average only 1300 die annually from just influenza with no known comorbidities.

That’s how these things work. They put your existing conditions into overdrive, sabotage your immune system and pave the way for opportunistic infections.

I didn’t think there was anything wrong with the old food pyramid. Wasn’t it the new one, that recommends a mostly plant based diet, that Michelle approved of and foisted on public school kids?

Oh stop it,.....a couple of those companies have been around over 100 years and have great products. Too much food and not enough exercise is the primary cause of obesity.

You know that and I know that.

But a politician telling America to stop eating junk would be the same as telling their donors to expect a hit in sales. And they'll never do that. Sorry if my point wasn't clear.

for Temptation fans.....go to YouTube or Itunes and search “David Ruffin Smiling Faces”

His version of Smiling Faces....when you are aware of the fighting between him and the band and the bad blood when they tossed him out...you can tell he is singing that sing directly at the band. It was recorded post getting tossed.

"It would probably be more accurate to say that he died with Covid-19."

So if somebody had shot him, it would have been more accurate to say that he died with a bullet?

The guy was alive, living with whatever health issues he had, until he got COVID-19 and died. Him and about 200,000 other people who are all excess mortality numbers since March. Mortality numbers were normal, then suddenly shot way above the excess threshold and stayed there every single week since March. It's ridiculous to think that the excess deaths and the ongoing SARS-CoV-2 infections that doctors around the world (including doctors right here on FR) are killing people are unrelated.

I had one person try to tell me all the excess deaths are because of suicides, as if 200,000 people jumping off rooftops and nobody noticed. We shouldn't be trying to deny reality, we should be working to indict Governor Cuomo and others whose responses led directly to thousands of unnecessary deaths, and we should be attacking all the ineffective measures from people like Governor Newsom in California who's spending hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars putting homeless people (who aren't at risk because they live outside) up in hotels for months on end (actually INCREASING their risk while burning up critical funding). We should be pointing out that it's states like New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts that have done the worst - by far - in deaths per million population thanks to the failed policies of their ineffective leaders. Hang this whole disaster around their necks and let them own it.

Meanwhile, President Trump has been working to provide Federal assistance to the states throughout the whole thing and will soon earn his status as the hero who's ending the COVID-19 disaster (and all the shutdowns, masks, economic impacts, etc. that go with it) when he announces that a safe and effective vaccine is shipping to your local pharmacy. LOOK at the how the Democrats' messaging is starting to change on COVID-19. They see the writing on the wall. They see that their months-long strategy is about to blow up in their faces.

Don't minimize this thing, let the Democrats OWN their failures and let President Trump own his success!

Being an unhealthy person is what killed him. Obesity for sure, and probably diabetes and hypertension.

I don't think I've seen a person under 60 who died from COVID that wasn't massively corpulent.

Actor John Candy died when he was 43.

His death certificate is being updated to CoD Covid-19 as we type.

The new pyramid is too short on the meat/protein, heavy on the veggies and still too many grains-bad-and not enough protein and natural fat is why the poor kids were so hungry with Michelle’s infamous school lunches...

But it is not as bad as the old pyramid-it was totally wrong-it was heaviest on carbs from grains, too low on protein and totally against natural fats-hence the birth of margarine, vegetable oils and high fructose corn syrup-all of which contribute to obesity far more than any natural fat-processed food is all bad for weight and health-too many carbs and hidden sugar-especially in low fat and fat free stuff-I won’t eat any of that processed crap-my choice-and any adult can eat whatever they want-their body, their choice...

Not for me-comfort food is a steamed artichoke, grilled jumbo shrimp or king crab legs, fresh cherries-things that are not found in this area, or are outside my budget in lean times-and I don’t like cereal or sweet stuff...
