I was 50 miles from Sylmar and Northridge. Never was scared of quakes until those two. One of my neighbors moved to Las Vegas after Northridge.

I remember chatting with you on another thread last week and you told me that you were a long time resident of Echo Park! I am a avid earthquake follower so was actually sitting watching my monitors when I felt it. Of course there is a delay in the seismographs I watch but knowing that it was coming was interesting!!
So far over 25,000 people have reported the “ Did you feel it” on USGS
Sylmar and Northridge were my worst but I was in the hills of Eagle Rock at the time...in a two story home. Zowie... it took our fireplace and part of our porch down.
Well off to bed here.... unless it acts up again!
Yeah. I’m a few miles north and it seemed like it was going to be a big quake.
But that’s because it was so close.
Felt it pretty good all the way down in Murrieta!

Thanks. I never felt a quake that close. It was more up and down than usual.
Luckily it was only 4.5.
I actually felt two bounces! They has never happened to me.

And of course, any pets that you have. I hope they didn’t run away before the quake. Animals tend to do that. They can sense it before it happens.

From what I've read, the closer you are to the epicenter, the more intense the shaking.

I was just outside, (because my very senior Cattle Dog had to go out,) and it was quiet. Didn't see any neighbors.
Between this and the fires, and the smoke, riots, CCP virus, been non-stop events...wouldn't be a bit surprised if locusts show up next.🙃
We lived in Perris when the 2 quakes hit in 1992 around Landers. I just got done reassuring my 8 year old daughter not to worry, that there were just gonna be small aftershocks after that....and then the second one hit. We moved to Arizona shortly after that.
