If we take advantage of that gift and confirm her replacement in the next thirty days. It would be very nice if the confirmation were by 50-50 in the senate with Pence breaking the tie.

“The electors vote for the person who won on Election Day. If that name is replaced, those during early voting are tossed.”
Since this scenario has never happened before, we don’t know for sure what will happen. Some, but not all, states have laws requiring Electors to vote for who won their state. However, I believe those laws allow punishment for Electors who are ‘unfaithful’, but do not, in fact change the Electors’ votes. It is the Electors who vote for President and Vice President, not the voters in November.
Electors are chosen by their party as an honor for long service to the party. If Biden is dead, sick or in a nursing home, the Electors he won will vote the way the party tells them. Now some in this unique scenario might well go rogue. Most of them will have little to lose.

They are for the Biden-Harris slate of electors, not the Democrat slate since the Constitution makes no reference to political parties. You keep bringing up the Constitution like it matters, it doesn't, these are democrats we are talking about.

“its a relatively simple fix ... and that replacement is on the ballot on Election Day.”
ballots are printed weeks in advance, so what happens when there’s not time to reprint them?

In other U.S. elections, candidates are elected directly by popular vote. But the president and vice president are not elected directly by citizens. Instead, theyre chosen by electors through a process called the Electoral College.https://www.usa.gov/electionAs far as write-in candidates go, at least in Florida, one must pre-qualify to mount a write-in campaign. They then submit their list of electors. FS 103.022
Regarding substitute candidates, " If the name of the new nominee is submitted after the certification of results of the preceding primary election, however, the ballots shall not be changed and the former party nominees name will appear on the ballot. Any ballots cast for the former party nominee will be counted for the person designated by the political party to replace the former party nominee." FS 100.111(3)(a).
Each State sets the rules for how the Presidential Electors shall function and the Supreme Court has ruled that "faithless elector" laws are Constitutional. I cannot find such a statute for Florida but it seems logical that if a presidential candidate has withdrawn and was replaced by the party, that the electors are essentially unbound at that point. But each state would have its own rules.

Hell, nobody’s voting for Plugs anyway. All votes cast are either FOR or AGAINST DJT! Plugs is the quintessential cardboard candidate!

Its a hell of a mess I like the idea of Trump nominating Biden to the Supreme Court LOL
..........................................
That is a really interesting proposition. I wonder how the sitting Justices, the politicians and the electorate would react to such an in-your-face event. I don’t think even Trump has the balls to do that!

Its perfect. Trump wins the presidency We know for a fact slow joe is drooling already so he will like not make it the next couple years so Trump get to replace him anyway And Trump look magnanimous for not screwing up the balance of power. And most important. If joe says no he is quitter Joe. If he says yes we get to watch the confirmation hearings and what would be most perfect is that he gets grilled. Cant answer questions. It eats up time. He gets voted down. Trump re-elected. Then drive the nominee through by Christmas 😊 Is the ultimate long game.

You actually vote for the electors. If Zombie Biden carried the state but he was back in his crypt. The substitute Rat would get them.
