Some male students in the science class probably shared the link...That's the opinion of the teacher...
This is not Zooms...It is Microsoft Teams video...I am not familiar with that...
Parents cannot feel comfortable just because their kids are in distance learning...Something like this could happen...
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
The cool thing about Microsoft Teams is that it is liver video/sound only. There is no messaging and no way to not have your video on. You can put something over your camera, but you are still showing as a dark/black video feed.
There is a similar problem with Zoom. It defaults to audio and video being on, but you can turn them off.
I found this out on an early Zoom call I had with a 3rd party on behalf of my company, where we had never used it. I realized after 15 minutes they had been seeing a video of me way off center the whole time as I talked or listened.
I cant stand Zoom or Teams. Huge privacy risks.
WHEW! It was just two people doin’ the nasty and not something truly egregious like a student showing off an AR15. THEN all hell would’ve broke loose.
I've been on the receiving end of that a few times and I've never experienced any of those at the time.
We use MS Teams at work.
What happened is not the fault of MS Teams.
It’s the fault of an insider threat.
I chose those words on purpose.
Microsoft Teams competes with Cisco Webex Teams, most directly the part that used to be called Cisco Spark. More messaging and collaboration that you’d see with Zoom. Seems to be an improvement over Microsoft Lync, although that was supposed to have been absorbed into Skype for Buisness.
Fake news.
Bill Clinton and democrats taught that this is not sex 25 years ago.
