Yes, it stems from the belief in early 19th century of mineral vs organic state.
The idea is that the young is mostly organic and as we age we attain a more mineral state until we turn to complete dust.
This whole mission sounds to me like another political agenda of science. Science is not perfect but making it perfect is the policy error. Only pure reason is perfect. Scientists nowadays are not answering to philosophy, and they are just as militant as the religious they blame for being irrational.

She has the silicium of Andromeda in her boobs... or is she real organic life material and not death?

Yes pretty dum. It is like saying steam is at the origin of the life of the steam engine.... doh!
. Both organics and inorganics make life... although the reference of the return to the inorganic dust means death...
Yeah, ok, but it also was from dust to dust. So basically minerals are also at the origin of life. The organic is allowing the thermodynamics and metabolics of it.

Put carbon and oxygen and helium etc in a little bag wait one trillion years there will be nothing alive in there.Helium is not an "ingredient for life."
There is not a single living organism in existence on Earth that utilizes Helium in its metabolism.

Yes it was just a for instance.
Elements (ingredients) dont create life.

Yes it was just a for instance. Elements (ingredients) dont create life.Well, it was a bad "for instance."
The wrong elements (ingredients) will never result in life, and no evolutionary biologist worth his salt would ever expect anything to come of the mixture you posited.

The right elements, supposing they are in fact non living substances, will also never, in a trillion years, create life either.
It doesnt matter what elements. Life will not come from non life.

Materials Consistent With Ingredients For Life This is what's called a "Fund me" headline made by those without a clue as to how life began in a prebiotic environment.

If the ingredients could create life then my wife’s kitchen cabinets should be making me a cake every night. The refrigerator should be making me a sandwich, etc.

Actually an Asteroid Carrying Organic material is part of a seed theory. Basically a planet with life has a violent ending and explodes or chunks break off.
Pieces of planet float around in a solar system and an a visiting asteroid picks up life and crashes into planets seeding them.
We are dealing with billions of years and scientists have seen closer to the center of the Milky Way the results of several suspected planet explosions. Thus this way hundreds if not thousands of planets are seeded throughout the galaxy and you don’t have to wait for that spark.

Yeah, what could *possibly* go wrong with that?

How have we ruled out contamination of the instruments, which were handled by carbon-based life forms before leaving planet earthI believe most spacecraft go through a process and are sterilized to prevent this.
