That Smith and Wessson was the pistol I carried until my departure from the job. The pistol was accurate right out of the box but loading the magazines was hell on my thumbs.
It didn’t help that I had arthritis in my hands already but the pain in the thumbs was unbearable. Smith and Wesson need to work on that.
My best buddy just got a CZ Checkmate. Holly Cow.
With modern police rounds the 9mm is highly underrated.
Modern rounds will drive a .75in hole all the way through you even if you hit a rib. And will pop a head like a fallen watermelon.
I had several 9mm chambered pistols until the boating accident...
I don’t have any of those.
Says the 1911 snob.
9mm luger is in no danger of going away. It is a very effective handgun round and is the most common in the world - and has killed more than any other handgun round by far.
Google “Uplula” it’s a mag loader that can easily fill the worst thumbusters.
.. but loading the magazines was hell on my thumbs.
Ya just needed an EZ loader.
I can hand load my 30 rd AR mag easily with my thumbs, loading a 15 rd Glock mag takes an EZ loader.
.. and has killed more than any other handgun round by far.
Shhh, you're going to hurt the feelings of the 1911 crowd.
.. but loading the magazines was hell on my thumbs.

I thought of that but the range officers didn’t allow them on the range.
In 9mm luger I have: a luger p08, a walther P-38, a Radom viz, an Astra 600, a CZ 75 bd, a CZ 2075 rami, a star 30 M, a Nazi conversion Steyr Hahn, a Nazi contract Star B, and I still need several more that I haven’t gotten around to buying yet.
Glock 17 was the first variant, 19 came later. Forgot the Beretta 92 series. “Top Five” is subjective, based on author’s opinion. Lots of good and interesting stuff out there. Poly 80’s 80% lower is very interesting , owing to the fact that you can make it yourself.
Sig 320 is very popular since the Army’s acceptance.
..but the range officers didn’t allow them on the range.
Ah, gotcha.
"No brass or ammo or ez loaders, Sir!"
WHAT! No Browning Hi-Power?
well, my M59 is still doing it's part...
One of the original crunchentickers. I had a nickel Model 39 for a while, then sold it to a buddy after making him swear that I'd have right of first refusal to buy it back, should he ever want or need to sell it. The bonehead pawned it a few years later, and the pawn shop was burglarized - the M39 was taken. Best part is, the pawn shop owner didn't tell him, just let him keep paying on the ticket for the stolen pistol.
I sold my M59 years ago, it wasn’t very accurate. I could never figure out why.
I carried an Astra A75(Sig clone) for years much more comfortable and accurate.
I also carried a PPKS clone.
VERY accurate!
I guess when SW when from the M39 to the M59 it need more tweaking than just a different magazine and grip.
Oh I forgot. I have a Feg pjk jhp (it’s a Browning high power clone). I still need to get a good condition wartime Browning High Power.
It is a very effective handgun round and is the most common in the world - and has killed more than any other handgun round by far.
Due mostly to the vast number of submachine guns made in that caliber.
I still love my Beretta 92 FS, I don’t care what banyone says.
‘The XDS are our EDC.”
Mine, too, but in .45. I have an XDm in .45, too. Good shooting guns and if there’s a better gun for concealed carry than the XDs I haven’t found it.
