While all of those pistols are nice, the 9mm is the most popular pistol round because it is cheap (before the hysteria hit us) and bullet technology has greatly increased its lethal effects.

You’ve obviously taken the Boy Scout motto - be prepared - to heart.

I wonder why the Walther PPQ doesn’t get more good press.

The author is a simpleton. His assumption proves it. Furthermore, his history of the Sig is not accurate.

9mm shortage? Smart ones bought several cases of it over the last few years. It is called being prepared.

“The author is a simpleton. His assumption proves it. Furthermore, his history of the Sig is not accurate”.

Neither is his description of the Glock (see below). The Glock is not double action and does NOT have a hammer. It is striker fired.

“It is a double-action pistol, meaning that after a round is chambered the pistol only requires pulling the trigger to set the firing pin and fire. Subsequent shots will also only require a single trigger pull. This eliminates the need to cock the hammer prior to firing but does introduce a slightly longer trigger pull. “

I'd say the military's move to the Sig P320 in 9mm is a major component of keeping the 9mm alive too. I have the M17 and love it.

“Shhh, you’re going to hurt the feelings of the 1911 crowd”

TWO WORLD WARS!!!

I’m a 1911 guy myself but I love 9s. My first carry gun was a walther p38 my great uncle brought back from Belgium. My grandpa got it when he died, and he gave it to my mom when he died, and down the road, I ended up with it. Seems to handle +p loads like a boss. Not seeing any cracks but the barrel is pretty worn.

That gun has done a LOT of shooting
