My thoughts are on a very similar track to that. Perhaps he already has his plan formulated, ready to implement, and We The People are being invited in to serve as "emphasis".
I freely admit that it's just speculation on my part. But it doesn't seem logical to me that our President would knowingly put hundreds of thousands of his supporters' lives at risk for no purpose other than to bitch in public about the attempted theft of the 2020 election.

Vote early on 1-5, then drive to the D.C. area immediately after. It's not "impractical", you just want an excuse to not go.
There will be thousands going armed. More than the D.C. police.

It’s a longer route, but try I-84 west to I-81 south. Work it out on MapQuest and see if that works for you.
I spent 20 years driving from home base in NJ to Maine, to Buffalo, to Pittsburgh, to Virginia. I got pretty good at avoiding traffic, usually just be leaving early... ungodly early!
Do you have a reference to when Biden actually said that the inauguration would be virtual.
I think more effective would be a series of coordinated local “Thank You President Trump” rallies with each rally publicizing a notable achievement of the President.
Thank you for the Mid-east Peace Treaties. Thank You for the tax cuts. Thank you for the lowest unemployment rate in history. Etc.
Maybe you didn’t get the memo. President Trump as asked for our presence in Washington, D.C.:

This is dumb. The Democrats will impose dining and hotel restrictions. Will protesters bring tents and campers to survive? Why not simply have a 50 state capitol protest. Let the states surrounding DC send protesters who can return home the same day. You could get millions more involved by protesting at state capitols.
why just D C ? we should do in all parts of the country.

I will answer my President’s call. I have encouraged others to do the same. Some have responded positively, and have already made plans to attend.
Some have not, preferring to either complain or promote an alternative to Our President’s request.
