Alec Baldwin played Juan T. Trippe, founder of Pan Am World Airways, in the movie about Howard Hughes. He didn’t have an ounce of Hispanic blood in him but his aunt Juanita had lived in Venezuela for awhile, spoke fluent Spanish and decided he would be named “Juan”. Trippe, as WASP as you can be, comes out of Yale, founds an airline, and gets awarded routes in Latin America bc the local governments are more attuned to an airline exec named Juan. So it worked for the character played by her husband, why not Mrs. Baldwin?

I have brown hair and blue eyes. My wife has darker brown hair and brown eyes. All four of our children have cotton blonde hair and blue eyes.
In general, I don’t like Alec. I think they are both vain, self obsessed, overrated celebrities, but you know something, I still get the feeling that they are good parents. Each of those children was wanted.
That makes a world of difference when both parents wish for it and have the means to actually support the child.
This level of dedication may change years from now, few things last forever, especially in Hollywood. But for the present the kids have a loving home.

I don’t get this. Spanish people are white Europeans, no different than French or Italian people or Greeks. So faking being Spanish does not equate to faking being a minority. And it seems she didn’t even really fake anything anyway. So what’s the problem?

Progressives only move forward. The past ceases to exist as soon as it is past, so what difference does it make?
