Back around 2015 I was living near Atlanta GA and put a 20 year old Japanese Browning A5 12 gauge up for sale on a Georgia website. I made clear I would only sell to GA residents with a valid GA driver’s license.
I got a call from a guy near Louisville KY who offered to make the 800 mile roundtrip drive, and pay full asking price. The gun was in good shape, but a used Jap A5 12ga isn’t rare at all, and isn’t a collector’s item by any means.
Pretty sure the guy was with ATF. A real hunter living in Louisville could easily find a used Jap A5 12ga. The guy made it clear a couple of times that he was from out of state, I’m sure so there would be no doubt when the recording was played back in court.
As Michael Conrad used to say on Hill Street Blues “Let’s be careful out there’. With the Dim’s back in power, a lot more of this stuff is going to be happening.
A sting if I ever heard one. ATF sent a scrawny agent to all the local machine shops in town under Eric Holder’s “under the radar” scheme. It was during the craze when everyone was finishing 80% lowers. He asked if I would finish it for him or if he could “rent” my machines and he had a lot of business if I would. I told him to leave. A week or two later. Agents showed up and said they wanted to look around because they heard I was making guns. I told them to leave immediately and if they don’t have a warrant I will have the sheriff remove them for trespassing. Turns out they too showed up to every shop in town and people actually let them wander through their shops without a warrant because “they have nothing to hide.”
Because they will kill is before we make it to ten. And in the case of the Davidians they will burn your children alive. We are not illegal aliens.
