I know that name from a LiveLeak user.. I believe he was from the UK though, or else I would suspect it was you ;)
(actually, I don't remember WHERE he was from.. hmm (been probably a decade since I've seen that name))

I thought in the McDonald’s case the top was put on properly but she had put the cup in her lap and the top came off.

The last time it happened ( MacDonald’s ), the victim, a woman, was awarded nearly $3 million by the jury in her lawsuit. That was in 1994. McDonalds appealed but it was denied because the temperature was ridiculously hot per corporate policy and the woman sustained some significant gyno injuries.

Why didn't he pull out a pistol, lean in the drive through window and start shooting at the employees?
Oh, it was too hot, but it didn't take too long.

Well I’d need to know the details. If the employee didn’t secure the lid properly and spilled it on him then it is their fault. You treat every firearm as if it's loaded. That's the rule.
Accordingly, you treat every coffee as if it's scalding hot and the lid is unsecured.

I believe McDonalds presented a defense that was very arrogant and belittling of the scalded woman, which swayed the jurors.
