I’m translating the Holocaust testimony of a relative from the German. Her parents were cousins, married in Berlin in 1920. “Back then it was a good thing you should marry in the family,” she said.
Whoever wrote this article obviously has no siblings of the opposite sex.
When was whatever is done in lower species, behavior wise, considered pertinent to humans from a human moral and ethical point of view?
I was doing an ancestry.com tree for my dad and came across a “closed loop” in a scottish castle in the 1600’s (first cousins marrying).
Ancestry makes it EXTREMELY hard to put a closed loop in a family tree.
I once heard a talk about brother-sister marriage in Egypt, between ordinary people (not pharaohs and their relatives). I think it must have been from the Roman period. Apparently it happened and was not as detrimental in the long run as might be expected--those who inherited bad genes from both sides died off and those genes were eliminated from the gene pool.
Uncle/niece marriages were acceptable in Sparta--Leonidas was married to his brother's daughter. At Rome when the emperor Claudius married his own niece, Agrippina the Younger, people were appalled. But Livy has a case of a man married to his own niece in the 5th century BC and it is treated as nothing out of the ordinary.
Consider the source: Stockholm University.
Scandinavian royals tend to marry first cousins.
Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip are 3rd Cousins.
So, now we can have a remake of Chinatown where Noah Cross is the good guy?
God took a very personal interest in creating Man and Woman.
We were created in His (actually Our of the Holy Trinity) image.
Animals were just spoken into existence
“...in-breeding has been going on for thousands of years.”
So, you’re saying it’s ok for a man to rape his daughter. OK, great. Thanks for confirming how twisted and warped you are. Is everybody in “Bush Country” a product of incest or just you and your family?
Hi! This is my brother Daryl and my other brother Daryl.😂😂😂😂😂
If you were a 14 year old victim of incest, you would be appalled at what you just said.
It is not more stable. It was reserved for god-kings and it is not healthy.
If you look at any history you find that any family that practices incest dies out in four generations.
thanks for the info
You have a point.🤔
I said no such thing. It must be difficult to live with so much hate inside your heart. I just stated historical fact, and you resorted to hateful, bullying speech.
Not that anything an ignoramus ever said bother me. However, civil discourse is really not a bad thing, it is too bad that sitting behind a keyboard has ruined it. People are forgetting what it is like to be a decent human beings.
Arab countries that practice the marriage of close relatives, usually cousins, have a high rate of congenital malformations.
Christians and western Europeans are not the only cultures that have incest taboo...the Navajo do, and the MaShona tribe with whom I worked in Africa still had taboos against marrying anyone from related clans.
And one only has to see how close intermarriage in the royalty of Europe essentially was associated with mental and physical problems.
This article is of course trying to destroy the incest taboo.
