I’m right-handed, batted lefthanded in baseball ‘cuz Stan Musial was my sports idol. Also batted right-handed but had more power left-handed.
I once read your most powerful arm should be on the inside of your swing.
Played tennis right-handed.
Shot basketball right-handed but sometimes short jumpers/layups left-handed.
Growing up I was an all-star athlete who got straight A’s and had visions of MLB...than this petite blonde moved next door.
Story on Phil’s lead...

Good point. I forgot this was the event. Won’t turn it on now.
LOL!
Re: Moved tournament
I completely forgot that. And, I did not realize it was the PGA Championship.
Thanks for the reminder.
He will get a pay day {as if he needs one} but with his ability, if he switched over to the Geriatric Tour with 100 year old Langer being one of the leaders, he'd kick some serious ancient butt.
Phil is too good for the old farts on "The Champion Tour", and I'm saying this as an 80 year old fart.
I had a 10 handicap and my best score was 71 {on a par 70 course}, bogie on 18 after my buds gave me a two footer {which I didn't take}, broke my heart to be so stupid.
I was a decent hacker, but never broke par, and never will, but it's been 60 fun years and still playing.
Handicaps keep you in the game, and $5 Nassau with automatic presses, make you concentrate.
Never had a hole in one, but Mrs. Alaska has had two, on the same hole and I was there for both.
I will never hear the end of those stories.
GOOD LUCK PHIL.
I just drove through our idol's home town, last week... Donora, PA and crossed the Stan Musial Bridge.
He was one great player, and I don't even care that he was Cardinal.
That river valley produced a load of great pro athletes, including Joe Montana {New Eagle, although Monongahela claims him} and tight end Ted Kwalik {McKees Rocks, is on the Ohio, but who's so picky, it is part of the three rivers}.
If you go upstream you get Broadway Willy Joe Namath, and off of Chartiers Creek, you get a guy named Ditka.
I know, I've stretched the "valley" a bit.
Good warm up for the one he needs, the U.S. Open on his home turf course.
Joe Biden going backwards.

golf is funny and mysterious. that’s why it’s so amazing to watch real talent. my dad just loved the game. i learned even as a rank amateur, that a good swing is all feel after you get to a certain point. when you try to control, muscle, over think, etc. things go outta wack and you’re frustrated.

great! hope you’re not a perfectionist :).
Ah ok, makes sense…
That's pretty common. It's also closer to 1st base.
Yes, but throwing lefty and batting righty is very rare.
Between my Dad and the four boys, we were all lifelong Cardinals fans. I recall he would have KMOX on the radio at night listening to Harry Carey do the play-by-play of the Cards.
My wife lost a battle to breast cancer at 28 and my girls were 4 and 1. We always made a weekend trip to Riverfront (Cincinnati) when the Cards were playing so they were indoctrinated early on. Dinner on a riverboat restaurant on the KY side of the Ohio River then walk across the bridge to the stadium. Some of the most joyous moments as a single dad...
Musial is easily THE MOST underrated HOF player - HUGE accomplishments and often overlooked.
More than that, he was always quite humble - just a class act.
Ditto Arnold Palmer, my golf idol...even though I golf left-handed.
True
Can't remember a single player who did that. Also, don't remember any lefty thrower who was a switch-hitter.
Little league, I was a 400 hitter, and I would bat left or right, depending on the pitcher and where I wanted to put the ball.
First time I picked up a golf club, I felt comfortable with both, but I stuck with right. Hitting it lefty would be unthinkable now, thirty years later.
So I’m a righty, and I was just totally comfortable with the swing motion. The back handed slap motion, I think it’s just powerful with either arm. That Phil is a righty, It may actually give Phil an advantage, a bit more control and strength.
