NYC tried putting a bounty on rats sixty years ago. It didn’t work as the lazy people wanted the city to take care of the rat problem.

When my daughter was ten our female cat apparently took her to raise. She would catch mice, stun them and bring them into daughter’s room, usually as she was just getting up. Cat would drop the mouse on the floor and look up at daughter. I know that is how mama cats train their kittens to hunt.
