Oh, man, that is so cherry, I’d be afraid to turn the key! That isn’t a car, it’s a work of art......

An Oldsmobile--perhaps a '57 Golden Rocket--smokes a hotrod in an illegal speed contest at night.

Station wagon. Maybe it’s because I’m getting older and I occasionally geeze out, but there’s nothing like having a car so big, you can swing a cat around by the tail inside it and not knock it silly.......

Beautiful car.
1957 is the year the Soviets launched Sputnik.

Who shrunk the steering wheel on the wagon? Ugh.

1957 is the year the Soviets launched Sputnik. More importantly, it was the year I was born! October 1957.

In September 1954, my parents purchased a ‘55 Olds 88 2-door sedan, light blue & white 2-tone paint. No power steering, brakes, or windows No A/C. Four wheel drum brakes. Automatic transmission. Drove like a truck, but solid, reliable, and powerful for the time. The first new post-war car they were able to buy. Was the primary family transportation for 13 years, then my father’s commuter car for another 4+. Great vehicle.

Oops, 2-door coupe, not sedan.

Who shrunk the steering wheel on the wagon? Although the exterior appears to me to be fully stock/original, the interior is "resto-mod".

My grandfather had a 57 Olds 88 with the standard 371 V-8. 4 door family car. White over sky blue. Not a rod by any measure, but it was fun to ride up and down Union Avenue in Memphis way back in the day.
