I had a '57 2-door Buick Super hardtop 2-tone green that looked very much like this except for the grille & taillights. Loved it so much. That was the really greatest car I ever owned. I bought it used, still perfect never damaged, in late 1962 for $750. It was very powerful and such a sweet ride!

Last year, one like it, a 1957 Buick Super Riviera 2dr Hardtop was up for sale for $37,500.

This one was advertised for $109,000!

1957 Buick Century 1

Just dream about that. The Super Riviera had the 364 cu. in. motor, high compression ratio for leaded gasoline, you bet.

Yes, the 55-57 Buicks were beautiful too. My uncle had one. Don't remember which. I was only about 6 or 7.

I reduced the size of the pic so that it's easier to see...

Sounds like our car when I was a kid. It was a tank.

Had vent windows.

Miss those much.

'57 Ford Fairlane wins the '57 auto beauty contest IMO.

Yes on the vent windows. Family would make long distance summer trips to my great aunt’s & uncle’s farm — parents, four children, a dog, luggage in the trunk and on the roof rack, and a large metal Coleman cooler filled with sandwiches, snacks, bottled Coke, and ice. No A/C, so my mother would smoke unfiltered Chesterfields, with the lit end sticking out of the vent window.

A different time.

That is a 55Chevy.

It's about to race with a '32 Ford.

I've always loved Lincoln. But, in terms of styling, this year had to be about the worst year ever for them. That is, outside of those of the past 35-40 years.

IMO, the '57 Continentals were much nicer than the standard '57 Lincolns...
