Hopefully not. But Biz Markie had apparently been in poor health. Nobody said that about Young MC.

We used to refer to this type of "artist" as a One Hit Wonder back in them olden days. Now, the music business is full of One Hit Wonders and very few performers with the talent to produce a real career. Biz, we hardly knew ya.

The best thing about Biz Markie is that he transcended rap. He didn't identify himself as some poor black soul down with the struggle, or raged pro-black themes about surviving in the ghetto.

He was quite frankly, the first rap star to genuinely appeal to everybody. It's just refreshing to see someone who was himself and didn't inject race into it.

Just an amazing talent and great person. He's the 5th major rap star that has passed away since April.
