I had a mama hen defending her baby chicks once against a neighbor's dog. Before I could intervene, the hen had ran the dog off.
I can only figure that the pooch decided it wasn't worth it because there was no way that mama or baby chicks would've survived if the dog has been determined.
I gave the pooch a shot of rock salt in the backside to make sure he wouldn't return.

After watching the video you linked to I ended up watching a half dozen vids of goats and Ibex’ climbing incredible rock faces.

Since my grandkids acquired email addresses, I spend way too much time selecting nice videos for them.
And make certain they have a safe happy ending.
That was how I knew of the ibex on the dam.
Someone has to find them!

I forget which freeper it is, but he killed a bear with a knife! And not a cub either. IIRC correctly his dog was involved in the fight as well.
