250 million years ago the world with five times more carbon dioxide than is present on Earth today.

How did it get that high without farting cows????

OR SUVs? Or Airliners? Or coal-fired power plants?

You mean there's some correlation between the number of people on earth and the CO2 increasing crops to feed the masses. Who would have thought....except Mother nature.

That's what Common sense has been saying right along.

Several FReepers have called CO2 food for plants. They didn’t need any study to know that.

Carbon dioxide is an essential plant nutrient...

Warmer means greener and that means more green that will soak up more CO2.

There will be a new “balance” acceptable to LIFE writ large on the planet and acceptable to human habitations as well, and will be a greener world.

If climate change raises ocean level, the one thing that would be worth it is submerging The Hamptons.

Whodathunkit? Carbon Dioxide is plant food.

Did you ever see a drawing of a dinosaur standing next to fern that is tall as the dinosaur? 250 million years ago the world with five times more carbon dioxide than is present on Earth today. How did it get that high without farting cows?

Oxygen content was also significantly higher then. Cow farts? How many cow farts = one brontosaurus fart? That should answer the ‘how’.

Y’know what else?
When it get hot, more water evaporates.
More water vapor means more clouds. More clouds raises the planet’s albedo, reducing the light and heat that get to the surface.
The planet is self regulating.
Almost like someone designed it that way!

Which is why Bill Gates is buying up all of the farmland in America.

(then he'll get Federal Subsidies for NOT growing crops!)

Well what do you expect, the world was designed by GOD the SON and THE HOLY SPIRIT, even though sin came into the world, Our LORD provided for mankind.

These animals grew big as a result. I wonder if that is why people are getting fatter..... ? : )

Cow farts was sarc but explained to me why CO2 was 5xs higher back then. Doubt it was just brontosaurus farts.

I read a bit of geology. They say at one time this planet was almost totally frozen over. They have found river beds in the Sahara desert, the Mediterranean Sea was at one point dried up.

Man doesn’t control this planet’s climate. It’s narcissistic to think we do.

That should include increased plankton in the seas which is food for fish.

The question is backward, but that’s what we’ve been taught to ask. The real question is : why are CO2 and Oxygen percentages so much lower?

The prelude to an answer is science has one overwhelming tenant that none dare trespass : gradualism/evolution. Nothing can happen except slow gradual progress toward the world we have today. Catastrophism is anathema. Gradualism/evolution cannot be punctuated with any sort of catastrophe.

If there is a catastrophe that they can’t avoid like the 10km rock that took out the dinosaurs (but not mention that it was over million years before the last of them died off), they just say the rock hit and so on, but never mention that the fireball needed oxygen to form. How much planetary oxygen did it consume? How much did the other 6 or so that hit around the same time consume? How much did the Deccan traps and the Siberian traps consume over their millions of years of flow?

You need to ask the question they avoid to find the answers or at least the right places to look for answers. The answers for both the lower O2 and Co2 are to be found that way. The other thing is there is a chance that even today’s gravity is lower - why? One has to look elsewhere to the Electric Universe and the Saturn Theories to approach the answers. Listen to some of Tom Van Flandern’s ideas (an American astronomer and author specializing in celestial mechanics. Van Flandern had a career as a professional scientist, but was noted as an outspoken proponent of certain fringe views in astronomy, physics, and extra-terrestrial life).
