There’s a time and a place for politics. This is not the time. If Trump really wrote this, then this is one of the few times I desagree with him.

I disagree. Any other politican would have stood up there and talked about how great the man was, how he dedicated his life to service to the country and people he loved. I’m not easy to bullsh#t, and I greatly admire people who don’t try to bullsh#t me.

Christians were protected under Saddam. Now they have been wiped out in Iraq. Saddam would have continually warred and been a check against Iran. The people of Iraq rewarded our sacrifice in time and treasure by embracing our sworn enemy Iran and kicking us in the teeth. I have no sympathy for them.

Yeah, Bush was sold a Quixotic vision for a politically and socially modernized Iraq as a building step for the region. With a second battle front in Afghanistan to distract and divide international terrorists.
But it’s really far too easy to go back now and re-plan a grand strategy in hindsight. The democrats got what they wanted, the Bush doctrine floundered, the street rat obama rode on public war disatisfaction and was swept into office…and muddled around for 8 years of ineptitude
What and where was the Republican party through all of this?

Who should a man like Colin Powell be serving after Bush choked?
Crazy flawed Songbird John McCain? Milktoast Romney? Even I could NOT go to the ballot box for Romney, so did I “ vote” for obama by default?
Meanwhile the nation is going to bury Colin Powell as a respected and trusted ( in his time) military leader.
I served in his time, trusted his decisions based on what was happening in those times, and salute his memory.
