“Get on out there, boy, and round up the thousands and thousands prepared to follow you in battle on the We-Spit-On-Colin-Powell-campaign”

Well, Sunshine, I’m one of those who will battle against Powell. Too bad you think’s he’s so great, but I guess liberals love that he turned on the Republican party every chance he got. Gotta keep ‘em on the democrap party plantation.

“Trump likely gains 100k more supporters instead.”

Well said! Liberals never did understand how Trump got so popular. They still don’t.

“Which is essentially code for no one can disagree with President Trump’s action.”

You simple disagree with everything the man says or does. That makes you, well, a liberal. Not exactly someone we respect.

What supporters do you think he gained that he didn’t already have?

Okay, you did some jackassin'.

I don't disagree with "everything the man says or does". I believe he has been leading out front on China, string alliance with Japan, bringing jobs back to the US, immigration, military readiness.

I would expect that of you. You’re not exactly a patriotic American who will call out anti-American people for their actions. You hate it when Trump does.

Again more jackassin'. GIVE EXAMPLES.

"What is there to be respected by someone who sneaks off when things are about to turn bad to preserve themself?"

Ask the people who say Milley should have resigned if he disagreed with the handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal. A commissioned officer has a duty to obey an unlawful order. When it comes to legal, but poorly conceived or potentially disastrous orders, that officer can salute and execute or tender a resignation. Powell did not, "sneak off," with regards to Somalia. He voiced his disagreement with the Clinton administration's handling of it, and he was overruled. Resigning was the right thing to do.

Name one principle of Powell’s. Just one.

Oh good grief. Look up the Powell Doctrine. It has several principals.

Of course Powell failed in the "is there a plausible exit strategy to avoid endless entanglement?"

“Love Trump. He’s not afraid to say what we’re all thinking.”

So true. I remember when the younger Bush, G.W was running against Gore in 2000, and Powell was being interviewed by someone on NBC and was asked if he (Powell) would accept a position in the G. W. Bush administration and of course he said yes. Then the interviewer asked if he (Powell) would accept a position in a Gore Administration and Powell said yes to that as well. Sure showed that Powell had no loyalty to anything except himself and to what ever the way the wind was blowing at that time. Powell was a true RINO.

You did that, son. Like all liberals, you just hate getting called out on it.

Ah, I see you just love to support Powell. Typical liberal claiming his written policies are what he did. We look at his actions. You feeble minded types look at his written propaganda. Kind of like all liberal branding: “Child Welfare Act” which was pro-abortion act.

He's dead, if'n you haven't noticed.

And so is your campaign, if you're stuck on "democraps" and other silly baby-talk.

Sheesh, all these years and you still think smearing other Freepers and attacking those who disagree on tactics, not on battles, not on the election outcome, is the way to carry the day....no!

The battles are won at the rallies, at the precints, at the voting booth.

You don't win the battle against allies here at FR...we'll win it together out in the streets.

Is there really anything new or surprising here? It’s only the same thing he’s been doing for years.

Who do you think will now support Trump because of his statement on Powell who didn't support him before?

“This time you cannot claim Powell attacked you first so you had to fight back.”

BS. Powell did nothing but attack Trump. It’s good to see someone with balls willing to fight back and call such traitors out on their actions. Your cowardice and weakness is why this country is going to the liberals. They fight using school yard rules and you want to fight using faggoty Queensbury rules. I’m not even sure you are on our side.

Trump has balls because he's "fighting back" against a dead guy? It's pretty pathetic if this is your idea of strength and courage.

if you’re voting for the likes for that traitor then we are obviously not voting for the same things anyway.

The GOP is dead to me because of idiots like him, and I guess, you too.

On the upside, I don't spend a whole lot of time dealing with people dead to me. Some REALLy dead lol.

Take it easy, Toad. We'll need your (live) vote down the road a ways lol.

If you can't turn the GOP, how will you avoid the same thing happening to any new party you set up? As long as a new party divides and weakens the GOP, the rats will support it. But as soon as a new party starts to gain any real power, the rats will infiltrate it. And then you're back to having a party that only gives lip service again.

The solution is to identify and kick out the Rino's. And keep at it until the job is done. And then don't stop as new Rino's will always be trying to infiltrate.

The problem with all of this thinking is that it ignores the fact that you have to share a country filled with people. Very few of them agree with you on more than a few issues. This being a republic, you have to share power with all those other people who don't agree with you. The alternative is to give all that power to someone else. Unless you are a new Julius Caesar, you don't have a third option.

So, you can have an ideologically pure party like the Libertarians where everyone agrees with you on everything. You win your 3% of the vote, like they do, and feel good about yourself and dream about the future when the other 97% come to their senses and all start seeing things the way you do.

Or, you can grow up and get serious about winning elections. Part of that is realizing that the purpose of the Republican Party is to elect Republicans. Thus, there is no such thing as as a "RINO," at least insofar as that word is used here. Susan Collins is just as much of a Republican as Jim Jordan.

The only real Republicans-In-Name-Only are the ones who call themselves Republicans but work to elect Democrats, like the Lincoln Project or a large number of Freepers. Donald Trump is starting to meet that definition, if he keeps calling for Republicans not to vote.
