I'm on day 16, lost smell & taste day 7, it is gradually returning already.
Seems to be very individual. Same co-worker is trying acupuncture for long COVID with some small successes.
Here's to a speedy and complete recovery for us all!
They’ve sucked so many symptoms into Covid. It is standard to lose your sense of smell (and thus also taste) when you are congested. As common as the common cold.
Only symptom I had was loss of taste and smell. Began smelling rotten milk on a Sunday, lost them on Monday , back 100% on Saturday. I took nothing for Covid…. Exc Jameson.
43 and very fit. No vax.
About a week.
Yes..very vague smell.
Took me about 3 days.....didn’t lose the sense of smell until the very end of symptoms.....
My son took a week and his wife took 3 months.....
Saw some of the other responses, we all took zinc with those varying results.....
I had the original version back a year ago last September. I lost both my taste and smell about the 3rd day into it. It was 10 days later before the fever finally broke for good and left. It was about another 3-4 weeks after that before my sense of taste and smell began to return.
FWIW, some things never quite tasted or smelled the same ever again. Kinda weird and hard to describe. Whatever Fauxi had em put in this crap was/is nasty.
Interesting. I smell nothing at all. Just neutral. Good taste like salt, but I have a salt tooth so that’s ok! Speedy recovery to your daughter.
I’ve heard that Omicron does not cause loss of taste and smell. That may be what you have. Also heard 95% of new cases are Omicron.
What were your symptoms that indicated it was time to break out the Ivermectin? Thanks & best wishes for your continued excellent health!
Have you tried smelling farts? Those tend to be a true indicator of one’s loss of smell.

Cant even smell my own brand.
It took a solid month for smell to come back and it was muted for 90 days.
This was a blow to a guy with a proper Semitic nose and not one of those toy-size gentile noses.
Please stop giving the government ideas on how to fix their poison.
No, but that’s probably a secondary sinus infection from something else.
Over a year later can only smell strong scents.
...when I turned 70, both my sense of smell and taste basically disappeared...never came back....maybe it is a “senior” thing, but still....when they say “Wake up and smell the coffee...” I am lucky to say that I did, indeed, wake up, but I cant smell the coffee any longer....
Sorry never got covid, so I am no help here. I am fully vaxxed and never got covid even after 2 cruises and 100’s of visits to stores and local restaurants.
All I could taste was the salt in food for 3 weeks. Went completely salt free. Back to normal in 4 weeks.
We are not vaccinated and were sharing chicken wings off his plate just before his symptoms appeared. Don’t know how we didn’t catch it other than blessings and vitamin supplements. .
