4 weeks.
How did you know it was covid? I got what I figure was flu or a bad cold because I could taste my beer and smell my feet. Things tasted different, like I said, I could smell things. Since I could taste or smell anything I figure it wasn’t covid. I take D, C, Zinc, and quecertin and Jump up doses when I get a cold or feel bad. Now I wonder if that would mask the issues. I got the horse paste just didn’t use it yet.
Can anyone share how long it took for your sense of smell to come back?
My first connection with Covid was in late November 2019, before anyone knew what it was.
That took over 6 months for smell and taste to come back. Then it was gradual.
My wife and I probably had the Omnicrud in the middle of this last December. Again my taste and smell was basically zeroed, and my wife was close.
That took about 2 weeks to start any recovery. This week has seen a real return in smell and taste for me. I changed the filter on our Brita Water Filter, this Tuesday. Our brewed coffee tastes better to me and so does everything else.
Search the burnt orange trick. Works for some
It took my son about 2 weeks to get it back, but another friend had an altered sense of taste and smell for months. She had a bout with CoVid pneumonia though. Hopefully yours will be back soon!
I caught it around December 1st taste and smell went about 4 days in. Ended up in the hospital on the 9th with pneumonia for 7 days. Around day 4-5 in there I could taste pineapple. Then everything started to come back. For the most part I think taste and smell are back. Maybe not real acute yet but I can onion from apple.
It varies completely from person to person.
I’ve seen it come back in a few days and I’ve seen it not come back as of yet. I have also seen people who when their smell / taste returns, it comes back abnormal. ie, peanut butter smells like soiled diaper (hundreds of other odd examples such as this).
Best of luck - I hope you recover 100%
How about being tired all the time? If so, how long to recover?
My cousins had it, and diffused/sniffed eucalyptus lavender essential oils. Got their sense of smell back in about 2 weeks.
Be aware, Eucalyptus is highly toxic to some pets, especially cats, and essential oils should not be rubbed directly on your skin, without a hefty dilution of a carrier oil.
Took me two weeks, and then still bit by bit. At first, I could put a dryer sheet right up to my nose and not smell a thing. I couldn’t believe how thankful I was to finally get it back!
I lost my sense of smell in October of 2020. My smell came back but I smelled cigarette smoke everywhere, even in the middle of the right. The phantom smells ended in March of 21. Then I got the COVID vaccine at the end of March and smell smoke until July.
I was fishing with my buddies last year. We were in one guy’s truck and I asked if they wanted a Covid test. Then I farted. They were negative.
Never lost smell or taste.
Just had things smell flowery or bad, rootbeer tasted like liquid mildew, coffee tasted bad, couldn’t eat certain things.
Altered sense of taste and smell would best describe it.
Coffee grounds still smell vile, November 29 when it started, but coffee tastes normal now.
Huh, that seems like it would be really weird. On the other hand, if that’s the worst issue in your 70s ...
Me and the person who gave it to me drove TWO HOURS to a FRONTLINE DOCTOR who treated C-19 with HCQ+Zn+antibiotic. We started the five day HCQ+Zn treatement Tuesday evening and on Friday, BOTH of us regained our sense of smell and taste.
It was so bad, that I held a can of kitten food about 3 inches away from my nose before I could smell it!

Because I treated it so early, I still take quercetin+Zn + other vit supplements every day as my natural immunity may not have formed as I have no idea how long that takes. And I don't care because I know how to EASILY treat the scamdemic virus.
Dr Fareed testified to the US Senate on early treatment of C-19, and of course, YUKTUBE took the video down and called it misinformation.
I was diagnosed with subclinical anosmia 6 years ago due to a deviated septum and screwed up sinuses. You learn to live with it.
FWIW, my cousin had the VID in early 2021 and lost his sense of smell. He’s still has bouts of anosmia intermittently.
I’m on day 9 of my Kung Flu.
I take Zinc Quercetin, Tumeric Curcumin and NAC tablets daily. The NAC really stinks but I can hardly smell it. I can’t smell the Tumeric at all. I am still nasally though so that could be part of it.
Feeling better, but this bug just does wreak havoc with sensing scents.
Your coffee, or people coffee?
Didn’t you already have atypical sense perception?
Reminds me when I was pregnant. Everything smelled like onions.
For me it was 4-6 weeks, a gradual return.
Every time I wash my hands I smell the soap. I noticed a slight aroma after about 4 weeks, then normal after 6.
