Not sure the article is worth reading considering the author could not even check Google to translate a phrase he thought was a company name.
Mittelstaendische Beteiligungsgesellschaft: Medium-sized holding company. The rest of it are two major cities in Germany.

Couldn’t the Germans have done the engineering in part with Italians doing the design? Most Ducati’s are beautiful high performance engineering boondoggles while most BMW’s are engineered beautifully but you have to look past their ugliness to appreciate it. I seem to recall the Germans and the Italians working together in the past. Maybe they can put their past cooperative efforts to a better use now.

As an emission-free top product ‘Made in Germany’...And regular bikes you pedal AREN'T "emission-free"?
The whole "emission-free" thing is such a lie. Your body is a sophisticated engine that transforms food to energy to propel the bike. It takes a lot of energy to produce and deliver the food you eat. Obviously an e-bike is charged by coal-fired power plants.

My jacket’s gonna be cut and slim and checked
Maybe a touch of seersucker, with an open neck
I ride an eROCKIT scooter with my hair cut neat
I wear my wartime coat in the wind and sleet

Not sure why they think “made in Germany” is a plus. Germany’s plastic cars age horribly and become huge money pits. BMW motorcycles have more major quality issues than Harley-Davidson. The era of the eternally fixable and cheap Beetle are long gone. Over priced, overly complex and poor quality.
There’s no chance that I will buy a German anything with wheels.
