""My sister took me. I remember waking up and a lady was waiting for her ride, I pipped up and told the nurse “Oh we’ll give her a ride home. I do remember telling my sister in a rather loud voice, Shhhh, don’t tell anyone but I think I am high"

LOL!! I can definitely relate to that.

"Glad to hear you’re doing alright now."

Thanks. It's been about 11 1/2 years since I had the reversal, and the gut and colon are good. It's the knees that are giving me trouble now. I've been nursing a depression fracture on the tibia for the past four weeks. And that was my good knee. May end up having to get a knee replacement at some point. I was hoping my surgery days were over.

I just got a colonoscopy, paid by VA via their Community Care Program ...in my home town.

It was triggered by a “high positive” on a fecal occult test.

If you are positive on the fecal occult test, colonoscopy is REQUIRED, not optional.

And it’s a damn unpleasant, undignified experience.

No, he does the Fecal Blood Test after He does the prostate, doesn’t that make sense?

Yeah but that’s still a prostrate exam. It’s not a colonoscopy.

And it’s not as thorough as the Cologuard which is looking for specific types of cells that slough off.

"I got my Cologard and 23andMe test containers mixed up."

I don't know what Cologuard said, but I bet 23andMe said you had shitty ancestors.

Coloeado hard is noninvasive. However it won’t give the inside view that colonoscopy does

Had a colonoscopy 15 or so years ago. They found one polyp that was removed. I woke up during the procedure just as they were looking at the polyp. The pain from inflating my lower intestines to do the colonoscopy was unbearable! I broke out in a sweat, breathing was gulping for air, thought I was having a heart attack! The anesthesiologist was no doubt the cause of this and apparently tried to keep me too close to consciousness. I am afraid to get another one after that experience. I worry about this because I know i should get another.I just can’t get past the memory of that pain!

I had a clean colonoscopy several years ago. Plan to do the Cologuard next time. Had a work acquaintance that had a colonoscopy. He lived alone and went home and went to bed. They had perforated his colon and he nearly bled to death in his sleep. Lucky for him he woke up in time to get an ambulance. I’m sure this is very rare, as my husband has had a number of colonoscopies since he has polyps and diverticulitis.
