I think that when Putin has sufficiently consolidated his hold on Donbas and Mariupol he’ll simply declare victory, occupy and annex those regions. There’s no way Ukraine will be able to recover those areas once they are effectively part of Russia. In a few years Putin will make another attempt on Ukraine.

The plan is an attack on Taiwan = an attack on the United States. That understanding is the only thing that has kept China from taking Taiwan or Taiwan would have been gone a long time ago.

Amen. The needless and senseless death and destruction must end as soon as possible. Over a third of the Ukrainian population, 15 million, are either refugees (5 million) or displaced (10 million.) The country's infrastructure has been ravaged. It will take decades to rebuild with the US taxpayer probably picking up a big part of the tab.

We have entered into a new Cold War declaring economic war against the Russian people. We are driving Russia into a closer relationship with China. The global food supply has been disrupted by the war and widespread famine will occur. Ukraine's wheat production accounts for 11.5% of the world market, while Russia's share is 16.8%.

And the US consumer is being affected by the war with higher gas and food prices above and beyond what Biden had already engendered with his policies. Fertilizer prices are skyrocketing. Biden's and the West's sanctions are damaging the global economy disproportionately affecting the developing countries. Is it any wonder that Turkey, Egypt, India, etc, are not going along with the sanctions?

And then there is the thing with our open border....

Flynn is a proven idiot.

He disses the Q followers while embracing them.

But they are so forgiving as long as Flynn says the right things.

Sure, he got screwed and abused.

But now he is just another grifter.

The entrenched deep state operatives that fabricated evidence to frame Flynn and destroy Trump are now fanning the flames of war in Ukraine. Makes me very suspicious of their motives.

“So the Russians should just be allowed to capture a sovereign European nation ?”

If your battle line is indefensible then you relocate it to a defensible position.

Just like Afghanistan alot of these weapons are going to end up in the wrong hands. And we will pay a price for it.

In the meantime arm the Ukrainians and cause the Russians to use up weapons and men who can’t be replaced, thereby making Russia less of a threat to NATO and the USA.

How much of a threat is Russia to the US beyond its nuclear arsenal? Russia lacks the conventional military force to invade Europe. It is no match for NATO.

thus, the need for continuing re-supply. Ordnance without ammo are just props.

/\

I thought he ‘won’ ?

That’s all we hear everyday

Ukrain is winning
Kicking russian ass

If he’s winning, why hasnt he captured some ammo dumps, some hardware,

Why does he need anything ?,

we keep hearing how the ruskies aren’t fighting just raping women and children 24/7

It’s a black hole boarder

We have a boarder too in case no one has noticed

We have actual proof of systemic rape , rape trees

We have actual chem warfare casualties, fentanyl overdoses all time high

If we don’t start protecting ourselves first we won’t be able to help anybody else.

Priorities
Everyone has them
Some are destructive and dumb
Some are responsible and smart

Oh, and TalyBiden just took our strategic oil reserves and instead of giving it to us he sold it to Europe, probably got a 10% cut off the top .

America First

Europe Last.

I get the sense Flynn is founding his statement to stop supplying Ukraine with weaponry on his belief that now that Russia has focused their war effort on Eastern Ukraine with a substantial sympathetic Russian ethnic population and shortened their supply lines, that no amount of propaganda is going to cover up the fact Russia is on the way to controlling that region. Not sure if he is right, but that may be his thinking. If that were the case, it would fall far short of Russia’s goal to have a puppet in Kiev.

Not only is this a stupid and unnecessary war, Biden and his failed foreign policy experts don’t have a solution. According to the history professor, unless the waracons pivot, the worst case scenario will unfold.

I think a lot of the weapons are ending up in the hands of criminals. We did the same thing with the Mujahadeen in the 80s...and that didn’t end up well.

So far as the calculus of the election goes any actions by the Democrats right now is irrelevant. The numbers are just not in their favor and there’s too many things they can’t change between now and November.

Still, It makes good sense to wear out the Russians in Ukraine as opposed to dealing with them when they try to make a move on Finland or Estonia or some other place.

My personal hope is that Putin gets overthrown and we get a regime in Russia that’s interested in being a part of the world. I really miss the optimism of the 1990’s.

That is a stupid misrepresentation. In any conflict the US can only rely primarily on its own strength. A Sino-American conflict would be greeted with satisfaction by many nations great satisfaction by more than many here would dream. The jingos here have no idea how many people in many nations from Serbia to Latin America genuinely hate American foreign policies and often Americans as well, Much of this is well earned due to the procession of countries we have invaded, attacked, raided or bombed since the end of the Cold War, And I am willing to bet that after the current crusade for freedom and democracy comes to whatever its end there will be damned few average Ukes that will feel any gratitude for American inspired carnage, which if the normal template is used is how the blessings of liberty will be provided to that wretched country.

. and the logic of expecting ‘friends’ to sacrifice for something they have no direct interest in is terminally naive. There are real existential issues real Americans are facing, the turd world immigration invasion for one, those matter. Who rules in Donetsk is totally unimportant other than to the giddy minds brigade (which is numerous among so-called conservatives) who get a frisson of excitement from Boy Scout rhetoric foreign policy lies.

Pandora Papers Reveal Offshore Holdings of Ukrainian President and his Inner Circle

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky rode to power on pledges to clean up the Eastern European country, but the Pandora Papers reveal he and his close circle were the beneficiaries of a network of offshore companies, including some that owned expensive London property.

That’s always the case. Professional military is usually a good deal more realistic.

Only two Senators voted against Johnson’s Gulf of Tonkin resolution that would directly send US combat troops into the Vietnam War.

Gruening of Alaska was one of the two no votes. See if his warning doesn’t sound prophetic in hindsight:

“That means sending our American boys into combat in a war in which we have no business, which is not our war, into which we have been misguidedly drawn, which is steadily being escalated. This resolution is a further authorization for escalation unlimited. I am opposed to sacrificing a single American boy in this venture. We have lost far too many already”
