"So, why doesn't he fumigate the place? It sounds as if he would rather be in pain than pay for fumigation."

I understand that FReepers often only lazily post a smidgen on an article (less than the 100 words that appear in summations or the 300 words usually allowed, or about 10%) and typically do not read the linked article before raising issues with it, but the answer to your question is plainly provided therein:

Clarion Housing Association which owns the flat...Although the company did arrange to fumigate the hallways and landings in communal areas, Russell said they shunned his pleas to specifically fumigate his home or pay for more intense heat treatment....“He has been correctly advised that under the terms of his tenancy agreement, it is his responsibility to deal with this pest infestation

Meaning the cost of effective more intense heat treatment or fumigation is very expensive, and the Housing Association will not pay for it. Still, a few cans of Hot Shot preceded by DIY BedBug treatments might do it.

“ Perhaps you should refrain from spreading medical misinformation?”
———————————————————————————————————————-

Run along Hapless Teddy Bear and prove me wrong.

North American Spiders do NOT bite like that. They don’t attack humans unless disturbed and they certainly don’t attack the same location numerous times.

I have had patients that have been bitten by Brown Recluse Spiders before and those bite marks on that man are NOT from a Brown Recluse.

Also, a bite from a Brown Recluse requires an antibiotic in 99% of the cases.

A Black Widow bite does not look like that man’s bites either. And if he was bitten by a Black Widow………he’d be crying in pain and running, not walking to a Hospital.

Those bites appear to be flea, ticks, or bed bugs.

Interesting info. Thanks.

A spider doesn’t hang around just biting someone over and over again, nor do they seek out humans to bite. It’s usually an accidental encounter.

Spiders aren’t interested with humans otherwise.
We can’t reproduce with them and we’re too big to eat.

Someone here mentioned Meth…….in fact, those do look like Meth sores.

Meth abusers get a terrible unbearable itchy feeling on their arms or legs or both. They scratch until sores develop.

So now you are claiming to be a doctor?

David Chase, Here to lie.

North American Spiders do NOT bite like that.

He is in the UK, fake doctor. Strike ONE!

And yes, they do.

I have had patients that have been bitten by Brown Recluse Spiders before and those bite marks on that man are NOT from a Brown Recluse.

And no one said they were fake doctor. Strike TWO!

Also, a bite from a Brown Recluse requires an antibiotic in 99% of the cases.

No. But I will give you a pass because you are a fake who does not know what he is talking about. Ball ONE!

A Black Widow bite does not look like that man’s bites either. And if he was bitten by a Black Widow………he’d be crying in pain and running, not walking to a Hospital.

And no one claimed he was bitten by a Black Widow either. STRIKE THREE! YOU'RE OUT!

Thank you for proving that you are not only not a medical doctor but that you are unable to read a simple article written at a four grade level.

Or the quality of medical doctors has gone down hill so far they are now handing out degrees like pedophiles hand out candy.

Come to think of it I can believe that too.

I never claimed to be a Doctor.
Genius.

You assumed…….just like you assume you know things when in fact you don’t.

So you are a nurse?

And NP perhaps?

An orderly?

A janitor? Nah, you need to be able to read to be a janitor.

You have some kind of anger towards me before this thread.

With that in mind I have to wonder how you arrived at that point without even knowing anything about me.

Try reading the thread, Brown Recluse and Black Widows were mentioned.

Strike one.

Do you own research and look at pictures of Brown Recluse bites and Black Widow bites and you’ll see the huge difference.

Strike three.

Brown Recluse Spiders and Black Widows are the worse bites here AND IN THE U.K. that someone can receive. Hence why they are a topic.

OOPS HIT BY PITCH…….taken out of the game.

Have you tried hanging your boots upside down, or keeping them in a five-gallon bucket with a clamp lid?

Fire blight?

I’m going to put a big chain on one of our tractors and pull it up soon.

That is a brave wife. smile.

My wife of 47 years died of heart attack in 2018.

I married again 2 years ago. It was and illogical meeting, she is a teller at the bank. I misunderstood a comment she made and it rolled around in my head for weeks and finally I asked her to let me fix lunch for her (on a Sunday). She agreed and we had my Sweet and Sour Chicken, and talked for 3 hours. Repeat a few times and it was clear this was not something either of us planned but we have both been blessed again.

She is not squeamish, but is afraid of mice. One day we were shopping at a HEB store in Abilene, on way out of the building we were met by a mouse trying to get inside via the automatic door. I quickly cut him off along the wall and stomped at him with toe of my boot against the floor. He died instantly, she could not believe how quickly I ended that. And did not make a gooey mess. I did not even think about it, just an old farm boy habit.

I'm 74 and beginning life again. A real blessing.

Henderson County seems to be a hotbed for them.

The other area I found them was Glenrose.

That is a brave wife. smile.

That is really not the half of it, but I won't go into that. She is a very brave woman.

About 30 years ago we got into the car and a big spider was crawling up the front of my shirt toward my neck. Somehow it got on me while I was in the garage. I didn't know it was there but she told me to hold still and she whacked it off. It ended up on the floor of the car and crawled under the seat and I couldn't see where it was hiding. But we figured it had had enough, so we went on with our business. I found a big dead spider in the car later but who knows if it was the same one.

After that I called her Alice the Spider Killer, a title which she took some pride in. She and our little weiner dog were like a spider killing super team in the house. A little shop vac is her weapon of choice. We just do not appreciate their company in our living space especially when they get in our bed or on the furniture.

So sorry to hear of your first wife's early demise... What a shock! Congratulations on making a new start.

We have a lot of them around our shops and barns.

Have always had black widow spiders, but over the past 20 years we have become aware of the brown recluse spiders.

When I was young, they only lizards we had were a green stripped lizard. Now we have tiny black ones, scaly gray ones, solid color gray ones, and little gecko lizards (clear and in assortment of other colors). Same is true with snakes, we have always had diamond back rattlers and water moccasins, but now we have other odd varieties.
