Have you tried? LOL I should clarify, I live in the Black Hills, there is “up” in the hiking areas. On the plains there is no conceivable excuse for accidentally coming upon a buffalo. Unless a person is blind.

Bison chili is good stuff - had some at a bison ranch once long ago. Chatting with the operators, they usually ended up selecting the fence breakers as the next for slaughter. Once a bison realizes they can just walk through a fence, there’s nothing that can be done to keep them in.
