What time of year did you go there?
After recently visiting Italy, I’m convinced that Hell must be run by Italians.
Most Americans don’t get Venice. It’s too different, and they have no desire to acquire knowledge of the underlying history. I’ve been to Venice 4 times, and would love to return.
If your only reason for going to Venice is for the sake of novelty — to say “Hey, their streets are all canals!” — then don’t bother.
You can just go to Fort Lauderdale for that.
Not my favorite place to visit although it’s been 31 years since I’ve been. Wish more historic cities would do this - the global tourism boom has had some negative consequences and makes sense to charge a fee to maintain historic areas.
That is a place I don’t need to see again.

It combined it sewage system with its transportation system. Genuis! Just Genuis!
= = =
So, the early morning surfers in the LA area plus the sewage surge from morning awakening activity = Transportation!
Who needs EV?
It’s a sewer without pipes.
Not all floaters are boats.
I'm sure it would be here, but it's in Italy.
And at the same time, we have toll roads and you have to pay no matter whether a visitor or resident...so I guess that would amount to the same thing.
Yeah, that’s a good point. Not sure it fully applies, but good point.
