It is a logical fallacy to say that cases are increasing but underreported because they are “at-home” tests. In the real world, a “case” is when someone is sick enough to seek care and get an official diagnosis; not just “we think” there are more people out there who must be sick.

I’ve been worried about, and looking for, ADE with second infections or “breakthroughs” since the Fall of 2020, really not seeing it.

I’m equally concerned about mRNA vaccines driving the variants, which is realistic (but not yet proven) - but I think ADE like with dengue just hasn’t shown up.

We now know that "cases" meant nothing back then. We now know that "cases" continue to mean nothing.

Testing is not only mostly worthless and unreliable, but propaganized and politicized.

I didn't care about cases then, and do not care about cases now.

I know a few people who tested positive in the past few months, both vaxed and unvaxed. None reported it to anyone. They were barely sick. Some are still working from home, some called in sick for a couple days. Some are retired, some in school. Nobody wants to be put on list.

What the article suggests, is that cases are not detected/reported the same as before, due to at home testing. It was expected that fewer positive test results would be reported, when it was left up to the individual to turn themselves in to the authorities, whenever they tested positive at home. Some people are just not going to bother.

Hospitalizations have crept up marginally, while case numbers were flat, and test positivity rates rose (now 17.5%, which is high). So it seems that there are probably a bit more undetected/ unreported cases circulating.

But death rates remain low and pretty flat - so not a big deal.

Perhaps there is a marginal bit more going around, and blanket testing during hospital admissions is just more efficient at detecting and reporting, than the at home tests are. More of a statistical anomaly, than it is a significant public health issue.

I went to the doctor two weeks ago. Everyone in my family had respiratory issues. They did COVID tests and all came back negative. The doctor asked if we have been vaxxed and we said none of us have.

She said they are seeing a LOT of COVID cases, and every single one is vaccinated.
