I never was a big fan of Disney, especially the cartoon characters.

Something about them always rubbed me the wrong way.

The old Sunday night Disney program on TV was good. I remember watching it as a kid back in the very early 60’s. We always enjoyed the show as a family.

Times certainly have changed.

If Disney wants to define its market as the Woke and perverted, that's OK.

The consumer and investor will respond accordingly.

However...

Once you go Woke and perverted, it is hard, if not impossible, to reclaim an image of wholesomeness.

There are many many parents who love to take their kids there. Almost de rigueur for kids. Entertainment addiction. Disney is happy to rip them off, and groom them at the same time, thank you. Disney is inimical to families...oh, they put out the facade. Underneath is vile.
I found that Epcot center in Florida was a total commercial operation, worker abuse, and the beginnings of the gay propaganda wave when I went there a long time ago. 1993.

Hate the newer Disney.

You can even see the woke rot comparing their 50s classics to todays stuff.

It’s amazing that anybody patronizes Disney.

“Don’t like it? Don’t go.”

No, sh*t, Sherlock. That doesn’t mean cannot or should not discuss why not to go.

We went to the Ky state fair last night. My daughter bought:
Herself spicy hot dog $10
Husband Philly cheese steak $12. They shared a lemonade $8
My oldest grandboy 1 ft long corn dog $10, lemonade $5
Youngest grandboy fries $6, Lemonade $5

That’s 56 bucks and the boys were hungry again in 2 hours and ate again on the way home (cost?—I would say they ate at a fast food place like McDs so another say $30).

I know they bought the boys cotton candy. So say they spent conservatively $100 on food total in 4 hours. $45 tickets and parking. Say $20 gas. Grand total $165.

I bought a pineapple smoothie for $6 and my wife shared it.
Then we went to Cattleman’s steakhouse later (930 pm) and had 2 steaks and all you can eat salad bars for $35. Plus $22 tickets $10 gas. Say $75 total.

They didn’t ride the attractions which would have been $35 each or buy trinkets/gifts which were everywhere.

People can spend some serious money at the fair.

Disneyland would be the last I’d be willing to do.
When I was young, my family stayed in the trailer park that was there, though I don’t know if it is still there.

Haven’t been back since.

I went to Disney World twice last year. Epcot is my favorite park, but they’re ruining that too by shoehorning Disney characters into what used to be an educational park. I tried to plan another trip there this fall, but I could go to Europe or London for 1 1/2 weeks for the same price I’d pay to go to Disney World for five days.

Too many chumps keep feeding the beast. Chumps money eventually goes south and the beast needs a good, hard and hungry lesson. Any DemoRats who lose their $$ in this Xidentopia of an economy, well they own it so they can enjoy their stupidity.

One thing about Disney is that you will remember the trip forever. My family went in 1986. I was a junior in high school and we remember how much fun we had. We went to breakfast with characters, midevil castle. Stayed at the Polynesian hotel for a week. It was 36 years ago but still remember it. Staying home was something we did, but memories aren’t as fun.

When the kids were young, now decades ago, we used to take them to Disney World. I lived in SoFlo. We would book using the resident discount rate. We'd get concierge rooms at the Polynesian, Boardwalk, Beach Club and Animal Kingdom lodge ranging from a low of $295 to a high of $435. It was really great, especially our family favorite the Polynesian.

They had appetizer offerings, special reservations assistance and all sorts of things. The convenience was easily worth the upgrade.

Then it started to decline, right along with the clientele. We started to see people appearing in the lounge disheveled, even wearing pajamas. We witnessed people walking into lounges and simply removing entire trays of hors d'oeuvres. The attendants explained they were having problems with families using the appetizers as a free meal plan. That really shocked me.

Some families used the lounge as a partial day care. The general behavior improved at places like the Boardwalk or the Beach Club, but only a little. Eventually they seemed to have attendants to guard the offerings at least, but by then the environment already felt severely diminished.

Eventually we made what we felt was our last family trip in the late 2000's.

We felt we had seen the major decline, but apparently they were just getting the ball rolling.

This is a great policy for reducing crowds and keeping out the riff raff while focusing on their core mission of grooming.

FYI: Disney parks let you bring in outside food, so you can pack a whole case of salted gourmet pretzels if that is your thing. They have a few rules. (Everything You Need to Know About Taking Outside Food Into Disney World Parks)

When I went to my country fair I refused to spend a single dime when I discovered that a small lemonade was $5.00, a can of soda was $3.00, a soft pretzel was $8.00 (without cheese) etc.

I visit about 2-4 local fair events a summer to support a fire department, Church or private school and I know that the price will be high but I look at it as a donation to the charity.

I'll set an amount that I'm going to spend {donate} and when I hit that number I'm gone.

If you look at the individual price of an article, you will get upset and do what you did, leave.

So they went to the fair just to eat, not doing any attractions at all?

Disney probably charges for kids to measure their height at various rides..."That'll be $1 to measure your child.".

We spent a lot of time on the exhibits. Cattle, sheep, gardening. They both want to be farmers right now (4 and 7).
