I’m just a little west of Carrabelle (a drinking town with a fishing problem) so impacting Apalachicola is serious to me. I gotta make arrangements to move or shelter in place.
These aren’t “forecasts.” These are “we flew an Herc through the eye and know exactly where it is.” Or else “we’re watching it on a satellite and measuring its movement.” Lots of room for error, but serious as death.
The runs I see show it between Tampa and Naples.. it’s still early though.

Yeah - Weather Underground now shows it as and “Invest” which is what they use for disturbances that may develop.
I live on the MS Gulf Coast and have had my fingers crossed throughout the so-far quiet season - but all it takes is one to ruin your year...
They are already blaming him for not helping Puerto Rico after their hurricane.

Today they are saying this will be a big one.
Ron Desantis has declared a state of emergency in all67 counties.
Ian is expected to develop into a Cat 4 when it hits.
I’m guessing it will take a more westward track, which is closer to what the NHC has it. The Euro, however, still has it hitting around Clearwater Beach. Apparently a big enough storm that Pensacola will get some wind and rain regardless.
