“Really miss Trump now.”

That’s a fact.

It's fair to say that Hitler's Germany was eventually going to have a crack at Russia for all that lebensraum. And I agree, the Soviets would have eventually been happy to backstab Germany, if it had been engaged elsewhere.

But without oil from the US and Venezuala, Nazi Germany found itself on a strict timer. Not enough oil to keep his economy going past a certain date.

If Hitler had been able to seize the Western oil fields of the Caucasus and - moreover - had blockaded oil traffic up the Volga (e.g. at Stalingrad) then the Soviet Union would have crumbled. And maybe the 3rd Reich would still be with us.

But Hitler just couldn't do it. He didn't have enough oil to maintain offensive military operations for long enough.

We talk about 'General Winter' defeating the Nazis. But it seems Hitler lost WW2 in the Atlantic. Mainly because he couldn't get a thimbleful of oil across it.

To quote Secretary of State Cordell Hull in his response to the Japanese memorandum after Pearl Harbor:
In all my 50 years of public service I have never seen a document that was more crowded with infamous falsehoods and distortions - on a scale so huge that I never imagined until today that any government on this planet was capable of uttering them.
Ukraine is not, and never has been, a threat to great Russian Motherland. The only one threatening another country is Russia. It should also be clear that by "neo-Nazi" Putin means patriotic Ukrainians who see their country as separate and independent of Russia. Nor has there been any attempted genocide by the Ukrainians in Donbas. This is pure Russian myth. The claim, also, that the present Ukrainian government was installed by a "coup" in 2014 cannot be taken seriously. It was freely, and overwhelmingly, elected in 2019. Additionally, this action by Putin is a clear admission that his "Special Military Operation" has been a failure, that he needs a mobilization of reserves to complete the operation. And finally, this shows that Putin would rather go to all-out war and risk the lives of countless Russians rather than risk his own political power. At this point, this is about the survival of Putin, not of Russia.

That’s quite a Zelensky picture...:-)

Instead of successfully “extending Russia” (”weakening, destabilizing and creating regime change”) per our ordered and paid for 2019 Rand Plan and this, despite our religiously engaging in every provocative suggestion they made for creating conflict, chaos and military conflict in multiple regions of the world that Russia had supported, the result has been complete failure.

We even on our own added in the “biggest sanctions program in history” and still we were thwarted and it actually backfired on us. Russia is thriving; the West is disintegrating.

Then we doubled down and even though we had spent 7 years training and supplying Ukraine’s military forces we recognized that we needed to do more so we literally took over the war on Ukraine’s behalf...repeatedly sending more powerful weapons from our own stock (much go the frustration of our own troops who had to surrender their much vaunted Carl Gustaf 8.4 cm recoilless rifles and their own in-use HIMARS) until the cupboard was bare. Though we have promised to provide a lot more in a year of two once our MIC can produce them. We even did what we always do...send in “advisors” and pretend we haven’t...a staple of every conflict we have been in.

But, still success eluded us despite the fact that we even threw in terrorist attacks in Ukraine and even in Russia itself to install the fear that would surely make them relent. And we tried again to build a whole new Ukrainian army training them by the tens of thousands in NATO countries so they couldn’t be found and attacked. And then we devised a GREAT counter offensive to use our new forces (supplied with brand new equipment and led by the greatest military in history, the United States Pentagon.)

Absolutely no real success in our initial battle in Kherson though we did absorb horrific casualties. We soldiered on in Kharkov where Russia was thinly forced with Rosgvardia security forces. We overwhelmed Russia’s tiny, non-combat forces who quickly developed corridors to get the hell out of there. Finally, we had the evidence that we were the superior fighting force and we were “beating Russia” and “we were winning.” We tried to hide our disappointment that we still suffered huge casualties and Russia suffered almost none. Damn those Russians...guess they remember that quote from General Patton: “Be seated. Now, I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his
country.”

Hmm... and now Shoigu comes out and announced the up to date casualty figures for both sides. Ukraine has already lost half of its army, 61,207 are dead and 49,368 wounded - Russian Defense Minister Shoigu.

UPDATE: Russian losses stand at 5,937 dead.

It turns out that the only thing all our escalations achieved is driving Russia into a dramatic escalation of their own which was announced today.

So now we wait for a miracle that will enable us to maintain our long held world hegemony. What was that Putin said? “The United States thinks they are God’s representative here on earth.”

Perhaps things will improve if we just buckle down and throw in some additional U.S. forces.

It never ceases to amaze me that you people are willing to take Russian government press releases as gospel yet think everything published in the West is propaganda. You people live in your own little mental bubble, and that bubble is tiny.

Somehow, I just don’t see Serbia as being big enough to give warnings able to cast DARK SHADOWs over Europe and the Western world. Vucic is probably just worried about what the economic BACKLASH will turn out to be in Serbia.

First and foremost it appears that the Russian parliament is not all that enthusiastic about Putin’s obsession. Although they may approve some hint of support, they are more like taking a wait and see approach. This earlier FR link [https://freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/4094909/posts?q=1&;page=1] has some interesting arguments about the DUMA’s role, and Comment #51 has 4 more links that could be relevant.

“Russia uses all available means, this is not a bluff”

So this is a direct message from your Russian handler regarding nuclear blackmail and hinting that Russia is ready to use it. Just remember which way the wind blows sweetie. It does not blow well for Russia.

...stopping the threat BEFORE a NATO member is attacked.
______________

Might sound good, but it plays as Future Crime/Thought Crime.

You cannot spin it. NATO and the Atlanticists are the real aggressors and the world knows it.

Trump would have yanked NATOs chain so hard, the WEF would have whiplash.

Without the steal, this could not even have been contemplated by NATO.

If that were the case Kaliningrad would have been Konigsberg again
a few months ago.

Most of the world sees Russia as the aggressor, that is why most of the condemnations are aimed at Russia and not the West. I haven’t heard much condemnation of NATO and the West coming from the UN, but I have heard condemnation of Russia.

From the GA? The SC? Or from the Sec’y General? The UN is a big organization in lockstep via an MOU w/ the WEF.

Talk is cheap. Most countries of the UN are aligned w/BRICS+ & SCO.

I actually hear the opposite, in so far as ordinary people go. It is the USA and the EU et al that are distrusted, reviled and, w/Biden, a joke.

I guess that’s why Sweden and Finland clamored to join NATO.

But, I agree with you about Biden: He is indeed a joke.
