I saw this type of thing during WW2, where people would just go and raid the garden whenever they felt like it.

Almost 100 years ago the Soviets confiscated ALL the food in Ukraine. Millions died.

So the feds can take it, or destroy it on any pretext (plants considered invasive, seeds containing patented DNA, threatening some snail never heard about before, fertilizer in runoff water, using water without permits, or whatever other rule they can invent).
IRS raid if you ever sell or trade any of your produce. Or maybe they want to tax everything you grow as income.
Whatever the excuse, a garden registry will not benefit ordinary people in any way.

As the writer said, "a little misleading ..."
Gardens on public land, not private. It takes a village type enterprises for virtue signaling. They will be a joke, but some feel-gooders will get to feel good.

My garden can never be a people’s garden.
It is an Animals Garden.
Groundhogs, deer, raccoons and voles are the main consumers of my produce.

Eff the USDA. It’s none of their business and a complete waste of tax dollars. This just goes to show that even the most innocuous parts of government are being weaponized against Americans.
I’m looking at my handy dandy US Constitution and there is no mention of agriculture in it. Kind of funny, since America was an agrarian society when the constitution was written. Shutter the whole eff’n thing down. They are just a bunch of lazy ass bureaucrats that don’t know jack schiff about farming or gardening. Send them to the unemployment line.

USDA...Im not worried. We bought a house in 1993 and the mortgage was through USDA. About 25 years later we sold and needed a payoff price to satisfy the loan. What a disaster! It took almost 3 weeks to get the amount after call upon call and Emails. Then when we moved into our new house we were getting mortgage payment coupons like we still had the house. That took 3 months to straighten out. Then we were getting payment coupons with all zeros.

Registered so the produce can be confiscated?
That’s what the Commies did in Ukraine in the 30’s leading to mass starvation.

From the USDA website:
People’s Gardens empower communities to participate in local food production and provide diversity and resiliency to the food supply chain. They also teach about the benefits of sustainable, local agriculture and how gardening can foster community collaboration, provide green gathering spaces, and benefit the environment.
Good grief... "diversity" to the food supply chain. I'm sick and tired of hearing that word.
