I wish they applied this to men who deal with cheating wives and their affair partners.

Or men in general. If you dont have boobs and a kitty, you don’t get this favorable behavior from gynosociety.

And to be clear I’m not at all bothered what she did if he actually did it and the girl wasn’t framing him. Which does occur. Which is generally why we don’t let people take it on themselves to go murder other people on the words of someone else.

I’ve also heard some Freepers say that their were such accusations for a reason, say in a divorce preceeding.

I think the “he needed killin” defense is left over from Texas and doesn't have anything to do with Spanish colonial stuff.

Myth?

Judge Roy Bean: Did you kill him?

Defendant: Yep I did.

Judge Roy Bean: Why?

Defendant: He was no good and needed killin.

Judge Roy Bean: Not guilty!

All that is a LOL response. Seriously though, there was summery justice in the southwest and general western US for a time. Attributing this to Spanish colonialism is silly IMHO. Life was hard, the law was days if not weeks or months away. Self defense of life, property and rights was in a person's and community's own resources. In some instances, it was akin to living in a war zone.

This is not academic to me. My family's roots stretch back to northern New Mexico Spanish and Virginia English in the 1700s then blends to English, Irish and Dutch in Texas and Oklahoma in the 1800s. Contemporary times? Typical American mutt.

I don't blame anyone for rights or wrongs in the past. If they blame me? Screw ‘em. Folks did what was needed to cope with harsh circumstances.

My opinions…

That’s the problem right there. This dude may very well be guilty as heck. But, what happens when some guy is falsely accused? It’s not like that has never happened. It’s a slippery slope. What happens if someone doesn’t like the way some guy looked at her? She could say, I was triggered, and in the heat of passion, I done him in. How about if someone spits on the sidewalk? Someone may feel they can execute him for that. It’s a tough situation.
I might have done the same thing, but this is a slippery slope, certainly open to abuse.

Pitts allegedly molested another daughter of Howard’s years prior but charges weren’t brought due to insufficient evidence.

Another of hers children.

Why did she stay with him

Because this isn’t so much a left/right political issue. This is a gut level case of a jury upholding the community standard. Its a moral judgment that the perp deserves what he got.

When extremely partisan judges and the 93% to 5% DC Swamp jury pool ignores the law and/or makes judgments they know are dishonest FOR POLITICALLY PARTISAN REASONS like they’ve done numerous times, that truly does undermine faith in the rule of law and invites retaliation in a way that refusing to convict this mother who struck down the disgusting pedophile who harmed her daughter does not.

“...I have no qualms with someone killing a child molester....”

Most Americans agree with you. The current US Quisling Puppet is a child molester. We have proof of this from his own daughter who admitted it. Also, the Puppet son raped his 14 year old niece. We have proof of this as well. Photographs found on his laptop from hell that the Gaystapo FBI decided to ignore.

I’m sorry sport I did not get that and I know you’re an astute poster so it must be me

I was just saying that women particularly rich women tend to get off for killing their husbands because all they have to do is claim abuse and have a good lawyer which they can of course afford with their dead husbands money

like I listed I remember two cases to this day 50-60 years later where I grew up both or wealthy and each claimed either spousal abuse or child abuse and the dead man could not defend himself and one of them the rest of the family disputed the mothers account remember the preacher in Tennessee the wife killed him because he made her wear white stilettos to bed it’s just simply a woman’s world when it comes to killing your spouse usually

It was a little bit tongue in cheek humor. Back at the turn of the century when several scandals were going on in New York State. Tammany Hall might have been one. All of the actors were millionaires. None went to prison or were prosecuted. The people came up with the saying, “You can't put a million dollars in jail.” I think you mentioned wealthy women killing their husbands and getting away with it. I was suggesting that perhaps they had too much money to be prosecuted.

Thanks for the kind words. They are much appreciated. You are one of the less than 5 posters I read each of their posts religiously. It used to be more . But you can see what is going on. Again, thanks for the kind words.

Thats why I said what I said. We have had stories posted here in the past where an innocent guy was framed and someone kills him.

That's a possibility. Why she stayed with a guy she claims raped her first child, then had another child with him years later seems strange. I'm not sure anyone has the complete story here.
