This guy was popping off rounds into his own house in a dense neighborhood with no concern for others. 5.56 sails through sheet rock and siding, etc. It’s sad and unfortunate situation but his own actions got himself killed.
Sure, we can attack him for his actions, but why go after his ethnicity?
Fair enough. I took it too far.
By the way, I wouldn’t characterize it as a “summary execution” in this case. I concede that it could be poor training. But not having been a cop, and showing up at a place where shooting is going on, and an unknown person is shooting into a house...no matter how you slice it, that is endangering your own life.
Handling a weapon is a massive responsibility, and the self-defense courses I have taken use case studies such as coming on a scene where someone is pointing a gun at someone else, and you can’t just shoot the person holding the weapon, that is true, as true for us as it is for cops. Heck, the person holding the weapon might have just disarmed someone who murdered someone else.
In this case, it all turned out bad.
The generation who was indoctrinated instead of educated is now well-entrenched in most journalism jobs.
The ones who were smart enough to see through the indoctrination or were home-schooled are probably too smart to want the stench of a journalism career on them.
Because the author is an uneducated moron.
I am hardly a tough guy.
You wrote something incredibly bigoted about a guy who has been in the country for ages, created jobs, and made millions. You wrote as if he was some filthy immigrant who just crawled out of the Rio Grande. Your assessment of him as a “red dot” and that he should have stayed in India is about as dumb a thing a person could write.
You should be called out for that on a public forum. It’s that kind of bigoted BS that gives conservatives a bad name. I understand you are jealous of his success. Maybe you should have studied harder in school.
I am not. Cops are trigger happy and are as much of a threat to us as any thief with a weapon.
Who really wants to be a cop anymore?
Who wants to be a soldier or sailor anymore?
If any of us find ourselves in an incident involving firearms, or any other weapon really, it’s best to not have it on us when the police arrive. It’s even better to actively put ourselves on the ground facedown with our hands visible giving them no reason to shoot. We can explain the situation after they handcuff us. After all, OUR main mission is to go home at the end of our shift too.
That sentence lost me too.
If I was holding a weapon and saw cops approaching I would drop it immediately. I don’t trust them to use good judgement.
Because journalism is dead.
In the rush to report the story first, news media put out garbage without proofreading or fact checking.
How would the uniformed police know he wasn’t an undercover cop without a verbal exchange?
You and I feel differently about it.
I can accept that, even if I disagree with your assertion that cops “are as much of a threat to us as any thief with a weapon”.
I would state unequivocally that the number of people not in the commission of a crime who are shot and killed by police is miniscule, nearly statistically non-existent.
Doesn’t say it doesn’t happen, for sure.
But I don’t think the risk from police is in any way equivalent to the risk posed by a criminal with a firearm who is either mugging you or breaking into your house.
That is where I disagree with you.
Dammit, you silly old man… you’re boring and don’t even flame well. If I were destitute (I’m not) and hadn’t graduated college (I did) I might be offended. Instead, you’re just making yourself out to be the clown you often are on here. Maybe we can compare schlongs one day at a Freeper meetup. That would be fun.
How very California of you
” He was actively shooting it. Into a house.”
And seen by the cops as they drove up.
You truly are pathetic
