The only one on the list that I know my millennial kids have used regularly is cold brew coffee.

Nothing on this list makes me hungry.

“My top food trend:
Filet Mignon...or Prime rib (medium rare)
Baked potato (with lots of butter
Corn,or broccoli (with butter)
Cherry pie”

Wonderful meal!
But, personally, I would make a couple of changes.
Instead of corn, a nice succotash, keep the broccoli.
Pecan pie instead of the cherry pie. Or a deep dish apple if someone doesn’t like pecans.

Ferment that a while and you might have a cheap Scotch.

“My cardiologist has me substituting rice for quinoa. It’s okay but not as good as rice.”

Don’t you mean substituting quinoa for rice?

I am the opposite of a foodie trendy eater. The most plain things possible — usually some variation of potatoes (especially mashed) and white bread. Food with no visual appeal whatsoever. And no appealing smell for that matter much less strong tastes. Hate food smells.

I like quinoa cold for breakfast with blueberries, bananas, plain full fat greek yogurt...but nit in winter.

You are correct. It would have been better if I used with instead of for.

I have high triglycerides and need to stay away from processed carbs like pastas, breads and rice. My wife is Chinese and we eat a lot of meals with rice. Now instead of rice with my meal, I eat quinoa. The rest of the family continues with the rice. I like rice better.

Thought it hilarious that the author wondered why rainbow food is a trend. Can you say “gay”? I thought you could.
