I wondered about that too, why did this remark result in a panel of exploding heads, when he’s said worse in the past?
Then, I’m thinking, Don was already getting on everybody last nerve ever since he lost his prime time show a few months ago. Just 10 days prior, Don got very angry at his co host for daring to interrupt him on the air. He reduced her to tears. The whole studio saw it.
This was the last straw. They are tired of his Diva ways and fragile ego.

i used to think that maybe pretty gay boys like this person might just not like women, but he doesn’t have room to like anyone, including himself. He is consumed by his feelings for himself. In other words, psychologically challenged.
As an elder myself, I have nothing against women a generation younger than myself. They’re in the prime of life, if in a different way than if they were two generations younger than myself.
But, according to Don Lemon, the term “Sky Hags,” once reserved for aging stewardesses, now applies more broadly.
Don has said a lot dumber /offensive things in the past . I think they just wanted to get rid of him and using this as an excuse
