Banshees was boring. I hoped it would get better or lead to something, but it didn’t.
I haven’t seen Everything movie yet. Perhaps this weekend.
Nancy Kwan - I Enjoy Being A Girl

Nancy Kwan was Eurasian. Very pretty.
And “Flower Drum Song”, the novel by C. Y.Lee, and by extension the musical, was extremely authentic to its setting and characters.
It was drawn from life. Some wokists over the decades criticised it for its allegedly disparaging view of the Chinese in San Francisco, but IMHO it drew precisely, and amusingly, on the types and attitudes you will find even today.
C. Y. Lee tried to do for his people in the US, Chinese immigrants, what Damon Runyon did for the demimonde of New York.
You will likely be disappointed... Visually it’s interesting... That’s about it.
I started watching it a few months ago on Amazon, then fell asleep after 15 minutes... Yesterday I suffered through the entire 2 hours and 20 minutes... That’s 2 hours and 35 minutes of my life that I will never get back. Sad, but true.
The Irish movie was fantastic... Irish people in Ireland and you can barely understand them... What could be better?
The movie is frenetic wildness, often very funny.
An over the top comedy.
Of course, YMMV. To each his own.
Remember ‘The Abyss’? Fantastic movie... Right up until the last 15 minutes... Then it turned into ‘The most Abysmal movie I’ve ever seen’.
‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’... Pretty much the same thing.
For sure I know the villain was the lovely French actress, Sophie Marceau. Next time I watch I will pay attention to Michelle Yeoh. Is her Everything movie worth seeing?
Not Myasian, Eurasian. I almost married one, but she wedded another and became Hisasian.
Seriously, I’m still fascinated by Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon nearly 25 years later; a young Yeoh was in that movie, but the older actors like Chow Yun Fat are what made it more than a kung fu spectacle.
True. Israel, Iran, India, and China are all Asian. Not much in common ethnically, religiously, or culturally.
First Oriental may be.
I was told by an Oriental woman in the 1990s that "Oriental" was racist. The proper term for her was "Asian."
It seems East Asians have monopolized the title of "Asian." Indians are sometimes called "South Asian."
In CRT terminology, "Asian" has been colonized by "yellow privilege." Turks, Israelis, Iraqis, Iranians, Indians, Indonesians, etc. must unite to "decenter and decolonize yellowness" to "reclaim their Asianness" and end "yellow privilege."
Meh! Give 'em all an Oscar. Let God sort it out.
There is no Asian race. There are dozens of races between the Bosphorus and the Bering Strait.
Then-Governor Reagan said, "I don't care if every seat is occupied by an Asian if they've earned the right to be there."
I appreciate your knowledge infused post. Most people do not know geography of Asia. It is the biggest in land mass and majority of humans live in Asia.
I’m a “Secret Asian Man”.
Nancy Kwan identifies as a girl : )
Pretty soon they will give out awards by preferred pronouns.....”And the best ‘Zie/Zir’ Actor Award goes to.....”
RE: Then, they began excelling at places like the University of California college system.
UCLA : University of Caucasians Lost among Asians :)
UCI: University of Chinese Immigrants :)
MIT: Made in Taiwan :)
