The parents failed to show up to at least 2 follow up appointments after going to the 1st follow up after the child was released from the hospital and in which it was found the 10-month-old to have lost all the weight gained after the initial hospitalization and was again severely malnourished.

The parents were not seeking medical care for their child but are for some strange reason, avoiding it.

“After the baby’s release from the hospital on March 4, he was in the care of a pediatrician, the post said. On Friday, the boy’s mother canceled an appointment with the pediatrician because she “woke up not feeling well.”

“Later on Friday, police went to the family’s address, but the child and parents were not there, the post said. On Friday night, the family was at a friend’s house for dinner. After departing, police stopped the parents at a Garden City gas station and took the child, the post said.”

I understand the CPS often does a bad job often by missing and not intervening in abuse and neglect cases, and in some cases overacting and interfering with parents.

But in this case, we have a 10-month-old who the mother insists on exclusively breast feeding, and who was found to be severely malnourished for a 2nd time, severely underweight and in danger.

If the child died and CPS didn’t step in, how many here would be calling for their heads for not doing their jobs?

I don’t blame them for avoiding the doctors. The doctors had no advice for them And what the article you quoted failed to mention, they went to a friend’s house who was a retired police officer to seek his advice.

Wrong. The mother had started introducing solid food, at which point the child started vomiting. And the parents sought medical advice & they had NONE to provide. They didn’t know what was causing the issue.

I would never do business with St. Luke’s. They are incompetent to treat a child, & don’t know their own policies on bringing in the CPS. The police should’ve verified that the child was “in Danger” (which it wasn’t). And the judge now trying the “case” against Ammon Bundy is obviously a leftist who wants to abuse him & anyone who supports him to the nth degree. THE HOSPITAL’S RECORDS STATE THE CHILD WAS NOT IN DANGER.

Failure to thrive happens. St. Luke’s wasn’t helping & continues to not help.

So instead of consulting with a medical professional, they “they went to a friend’s house who was a retired police officer to seek his advice.”

They had already been to medical professionals who could not figure out what was wrong. They weren’t getting help, other than having CPS sicced on them.
