First will come the cyborgs, human beings re-engineered to overcome physical frailties with bionic components. Then on to full AI, vastly outstripping the human speed of calculation and response times.
“Gender” will be lost somewhere back there in the dust. It is even now being made obsolete, or at least, “unimportant”.
If people do not choose to use gender properly, like freedom, it, too, shall be lost, perhaps forever.

God created humans to have fellowship with Him. Christ redeemed and is redeeming humans through His Cross and Resurrection. God sent humans his Holy and Life-Creating Spirit to sanctify them.

Steve Bannon has be devoting at least several segments on his program per week to transhumanism for well over a year. It is discussed way more than transgenderism, although links to the thought processes, or lack thereof, are made between transgenderism and transhumanism.
A side note: I watched a Jordan Peterson video last night. It was a clip from one of his old classes that he has posted on YouTube. It was about identity, from a very broad perspective, not all of this pick your own political, race, gender, sexual identity stuff. He made a very compelling argument about how religion plays a role in how people think, speak, behave and see themselves. In other words, their identity is rooted to something that stable, ancient and greater than themselves - God. Contrast that to non religious people; they are just making it up as they go along. My words: they a playing God with their own identities.

If you can unmoor yourself from your gender, there isn’t much that about your identity that cannot be re-written to suit one’s desires.
