Was he a liar then to go to Occidental College as a foreign student and get an edge to get his books published? Or is he a liar now? Probably both since Obama is a "truth chameleon" depending on the subject.
This is nothing new. Discussed and cussed probably hundreds of times here.
Listen closely to the tape. The family didn’t say he was born in Kenya. That was something the interviewer wanted them to say. He jumped in and acted like his “grandmother” agreed when she hadn’t.
It’s also not been established that he went to Occidental as a foreign student. In the Seventies and Eighties, an “African-American” student who went to prep school was a much biger haul than an Indonesian or a Kenyan.
The owner of the literary agency said Obama probably did not write his own bio,
“Acton, who spoke to Breitbart News by telephone, confirmed precise details of the booklet and said that it cost the agency tens of thousands of dollars to produce.”
“He indicated that while ‘almost nobody’ wrote his or her own biography, the non-athletes in the booklet, whom ‘the agents deal[t] with on a daily basis,’ were ‘probably’ approached to approve the text as presented.”
The editor of the bio said Obama never said he was born in Kenya.
“This was nothing more than a fact checking error by me—an agency assistant at the time,” Goderich wrote in an emailed statement to Yahoo News. “There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii. I hope you can communicate to your readers that this was a simple mistake and nothing more.””
Prior to the pamphlet, Obama was interviewed by the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times and the Chicago Tribune all say he was born in Hawaii.
