It’s interesting to see how some people say they admire someone from history, and then another Freeper comes in and says they detest that person.
I wish we could do polls here , and see the rank ordering of who Freepers admire.
Calvin Coolidge
Tucker Carlson
Francis Marion
James Knox Polk, the best one term President who gave the US it’s current shape.

Robert Edward Lee and Thomas Jonathan “Stonewall” Jackson.
George Washington.
Not because he won the revolution but because he started the French & Indian war. His screw-up while on a mission for the British Army started a war between them and the Frogs (and their Indian allies) over control of the Ohio Valley.

The only reason the French got involved with the American Revolution was they still were angry (at the British) over being driven at gunpoint out of the Ohio Valley.
Without the assistance of the French, it’s not certain the Colonials could have defeated the Redcoats. And even if they had, it’s a certainty it would have taken considerably longer to do so.
So young Washington’s screw-up translated into victory for General Washington when it was for all the marbles.
Francis Marion was cool.
