Last time I set foot in That area was in 1960. It was nothing like today. Now I am too old at age 83 to tolerate long flights to Arab lands. My travel now is mainly Caribbean cruises from Florida, main reason I moved here. 90 minutes drive to Port Canaveral.
So much ignorance in your post. Expat workers in Dubai eat very well. There are free high-quality-food banks all over the city for some who do not have enough to eat.
Reason for low crimes in Dubai,Singapore,Cruise ships, is the same. Better wages and better food than expats can get in their native country. Very few will risk getting banned for life by committing petty crimes.
Thanks to the Democrat Party and weak kneed Republican Party, America has been Ghettoized. Until voters in Blue Cities wake up, it will only get worse.

Left out of the release was the fact that big-name retailers like Whole Foods, which shut down a South Side location last year, and Walmart, which had closed three stores in April, were shuttering due to the city's failure to address rampant crime.
“If it's not corrected over time,” said Walmart CEO Doug McMillon about the nationwide shoplifting problem that impacted the closures, “prices will be higher, and/or stores will close.”
The company put out a statement when those Chicago locations were closed that said, “The simplest explanation is that collectively our Chicago stores have not been profitable since we opened the first one nearly 17 years ago — these stores lose tens of millions of dollars a year, and their annual losses nearly doubled in just the last five years.”
“The remaining four Chicago stores continue to face the same business difficulties, but we think this decision gives us the best chance to help keep them open and serving the community,” the statement added.”
In 10-20 years from now, if voters fall for this “equity” nonsense, upper class neighborhoods will not be allowed to enjoy the Whole Foods and Fresh Markets in the name of “equity”.

FWICS, this vanity thread is about Dubai and worshiping it, rather than comparing the seemingly worshipful things of Dubai to the seedy problems of US cities caused by those like-minded to the rulers of Dubai (an uneven comparison anyhow). No place on the planet is perfect and Dubai is no exception.
