My son texted me — he was disappointed of course. He did see the fake punt and loved it.

It is great when the coach gets somebody to do something completely different like that and it succeeds. I tell you, that guy was beaming from ear to ear after successfully executing that play. Nobody expected to see a 300 pound lineman running the ball!

I enjoyed seeing Ryan Day get emotional. He was almost out of breath.

When you get beat soundly, it’s almost easier to admit defeat. It’s a lot harder when the game is close.

Six of the top 25 teams have gotten beat already today, and USC is still playing Arizona State.

But my other question is why Ohio State didn’t just take a knee on the extra point, since there was a chance ND could block the kick and return it for two points, which would have tied the game.

Adding the 1 second forced OSU to kick the extra point.

Apparently the line on the game was OSU -3.......Hmmmmmmmmmmm!

I think at some point, with that clock issue coming up, that their brains just shut down about taking a knee as an option.

And I think Notre Dame was just wanting that kickoff, instead of trying to block the PAT.

There were several games with both teams ranked, so part of that was bound to happen. Personally, I don’t think rankings mean much until week 7 or 8.
