But recently bias factors into that as my viewing tastes have changed over the years. Definitely my perspective has changed, not just my tastes.
Once upon a time I enjoyed THE GRADUATE. Now I see it as a morally bankrupt film. Same with BONNIE AND CLYDE, which turned its criminals into heroes.
While old movies are too innocent, modern films (post-1970) are too cynical and decadent. Maybe I'm just outgrowing the whole thing.

“Why on earth was the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers not included? (Low budget but super characterization, plot, acting, and message.)”
It was supposed to be a warning about communist infiltration.

A cautionary tale about Communism. So was "Reds" - the Warren Beatty directed film with Diane Keaton
The real story of John Reed who goes to Russia to support the communist revolution...but discovers its evil at the end of his life.

the original Magnificent Seven is actually Kurosawa’s The Seven Samurai. Also excellent btw. Yes.
Just like "Fistful of Dollars" with Clint Eastwood, "Last Man Standing" with Bruce Willis, and "Warrior and the Princess" with David Carradine (Horrible move--don't watch it) are all remakes of "Yojimbo" which is also an excellent movie

Yea, it seems like the writer of The Seven Samurai sued the people who made The Magnificent Seven.

I looked at the list and wondered about many of them. When I got to Broke Back Mountain I stopped and immediately knew it was leftist crap.

What about Behind the Green Door? Classic. I'm watching it right now.

I believe that Clint Eastwood’s “Pale Rider” is a remake of “Shane”.
