#19 was Ted Nugent's "Cat Scratch Fever".
Probably THE most favorite 70s song on my list ...
At the top of my list of WORST 70s songs ...
Probably a dumb question but here it is anyway:
Did any of Johnny Horton’s songs ever make it to #1?
I loved that guy’s voice Oddly(?) I loved Mama Cass Eliot’s voice too.
Brandy remains an all time favorite. Elliott Lurie later became president of MGM music. He still goes into clubs occasionally and sings it with his guitar. I think he wrote the song to impress some hippy girl in NY. She wasn’t impressed, but the song went big.
Why on Earth is Black Betty by Ram Jam not on this list? It was one of the best songs of the 70s and STILL rocks people!
Well.....I waited to make this post. As soon as I read the title, one certain song came to mind. I waited to see if anyone else might think of this, I think, iconic one-hit wonder.
In The Year 2525.
I have the 45rpm of 2525, and it was played, oh, I don’t know, a 100,000 times?
On the first work day of the year 2020, I brought a good bluetooth speaker to work and started playing 2525 early in the morning. The office had a fair amount of liberals, and they didn’t get it. The conservatives in the office had great smiles on their faces.
To those of us who first viewed 2001 A Space Odyssey, the actual year 2001 seemed far, far away. To actually say the year 2020 when it came sometimes made me feel like a time traveler.
I had hoped to at least see SpaceX Starship reach Mars. At first, and without people, maybe Starship will just orbit Mars and come back. Some Starships will just be supply ships without people.
I had hoped to witness some of this, but the Hussein/Biden Regime is hindering SpaceX every which way they can. After the very recent 2nd test launch of Starship/Superheavy, SpaceX will be ready for the next test launch before the end of 2023. The Hussein/Biden Regime is treating each test launch as if it is an airplane/airline crash. They have even delayed launches by having the Federal Fish & Wildlife Administration review and approve.
SpaceX has established reusability as the standard for commercial space. Heck, the European Space Agency (ESA) has just contracted at least 4 launches with SpaceX. The ESA Ariane-5 rocket is retired, and the Ariane-6 is 4 years behind schedule. Even when Ariane-6 is ready, they are not reusable. There is a competitor to SpaceX’s Starlink service called OneWeb. SpaceX agreed to launch some of OneWeb satellites when others couldn’t. Some of SpaceX’s first stages have launched 18 times, driving down the cost from billions to much, much less.
