There are plenty of reports directly from participants, and lots of combat footage and even geolocated satellite data.

True, but their ability to extract it will require billions in infrastructure costs to rebuild. Oil and gas is their primary income and once you shut down a well it is ridiculously expensive to revive it. Most of the technology for that infrastructure is provided from the West. Even now they are cannibalizing some of their passenger airliners to keep others flying because they can't produce the necessary parts on their own. They're really screwed. And, I wonder what the rest of the western world will make of another Holodomor in full display on the web.
