Nope, we’re living in it right now.

“Equally, it is asinine to generalize and name “generations” as though everybody born in that time period thinks and acts alike.”
Just an observation, most all the protesters and rioters in the 60’s that run now the country have really Fuc$ed us all up.
THAT is not a generalization.

Not even close. Each decade has been worse than the last in the six decades of my life - far worse. And the decline began many decades before that.

True, the horrible decisions that caused the decline were made in decades past, and there have been some bright spots in recent ones - but there is no doubt that it is a steady downward slide.

I think the worst decisions were:

1770s.- failing to outlaw slavery in the Constitution. That made “All men are created equal” a lie.
1860s - not letting the southern states secede. That made being a State by choice a lie.
1910s - creating the Federal Reserve - that was the end of sound money.
1910s - creating the IRS and federal income tax - that made the whole Constitution a lie.
1930s - the New Deal - that was the beginning of the deep state - the military industrial complex.

Those mistakes put us on a downward slide in which a bloated unelected administrative state, filled with Marxists, perverts and war-mongers, systematically deceives and plunders the people by whatever evil means necessary - stolen elections, fake scandals and impeachments - a weaponized system of justice - even assassination.

Anyone who can look at the madness of what is happening now - our standard of living now - the quality of products now - the landscape now - any aspect of life now - and say the 1970s were worse - is just delusional.

Sure, we have these mobile phones that can do amazing things - but even regarding that one powerful technological advancement - it remains to be seen whether it is a tool that serves us, or whether it is a tool that serves us up to our masters, a tool with which they herd us like cattle.

Are you going to throw everybody else who was born between 1945 and 1965 (approx) in the trash with them? Of course not! You’re smart enough not to fall into the trap of “generational” stereotyping.

The American Bandstand video I was referring to had them dancing to the Bay City Rollers!

Now that was a blast from the past! I went right away and downloaded some Bay City Rollers to my Prime playlist.

I guess because I graduated high school in 1976 I’m biased. But there has never been another decade like the 70’s for the greatest music.

I turned 15 in 1970, so I enjoyed most of the decade. Wasn’t perfect, but nothing is.

The 1930s were pretty bad too.

And then there was the whole 14th century.

The Dark Ages weren’t that wonderful either.

I recall seeing Eric Clapner in concert in 1976, talk about coming of age. Listening to him play Layla, it was like magic.

Early Seventies, maybe, as a continuation of the late Sixties.

Late Seventies music sucked.

Born in 1955. I grew up and have lived with idiots all my life, so my comment stands. Most my “generation” are idiots!
Y’all know that in most all pursuits 20% of the doer’s carry the 80% of the substandard hominids that have rights.

Layla. Original version. Still my favorite song ever. The piano riff still sends shivers down my spine.

Years later I read the backstory on Layla.

Harrison never held this against Clapton.

You think any other "generation" was any different?

Hah!

There's no "greatest generation", there's no "worst generation", there are just people. And half of them are below average.
