I have first hand information about this, and much of this article is simply inaccurate.
I will, however, say what should be said about this: Antibody Drug Conjugates are going to be THE WAY of treating cancer for the next 30 years.
Molecules of chemotherapy medicine are linked to an antibody built to detect, locate, and adhere to over-expressed protein patterns typical of all cancers.
The ADC lands on the proteins, the cell pulls in the antibody, the linker molecules are dissolved, and the chemo then causes cell death.
Compare this to conventional chemo, which is effectively ‘spray and pray’.
I don’t trust Wikipedia for anything. There’s an article in a recent Harpers about a guy who built a company out of manipulating Wikipedia.
